Sarr may become a good or great player, but picking him would have signalled the end of the Trae era, dude is not ready to be a winning player. I think he and his agents knew this as well.

Remember when this sub said he would be an elite POA defender day 1. And then he could screen just like Clint and rim run as good as him because of his testing. And that it would only take a season until he develops his three. Solid scouting.

I watched the game and the tools are there defensively he does get after it . Offensively he has flashes of very high level skill . This may be an odd take but i see much better defending Andre Blatche from him
Now if you ask me about Clingan i was very impressed with his game . His size translates immediately would not have been mad at trading down and taking him .

I really wanted Sarr until I found out he didn’t want to play Center. Sarr wanted to be a PF in the NBA. I don’t think he is going to be able to play PF in the NBA. His biggest problem is that he wants to avoid contact. So instead of using his size to het download and score. Sarr is taking dumb jump shots. Unless he is willing to put on some weight and be more physical. Sarr will be a bust in the NBA.

I was a Sarr truther and I’m man enough to admit I was wrong. So far I’ve been terribly wrong. It’s only been a few SL games but I’m not seeing anything seeing any of the stuff that made me want him on the hawks to begin with. Never gonna hate on the kid tho I wish him the best.

As a Hawks fan that got ratio’d on the Clingan > Sarr take, this game made me feel amazing lmao. A traditional big man who knows how to play the position properly > a 7 footer who thinks he’s a guard and is really poor at Center skills. Still rooting for Sarr to have a good career but glad this is not our headache.
