Better now than in-season. For one because he should be ready to go for the season ahead but for two because hopefully he’ll have enough time to heal to get back on the floor and regain rhythm with the shot and comfort with the hand, it can take time to regain the feel and rhythm of the ball after you break your hand.

I would love to hear an explanation of why every time an NBA player breaks part of their hand the next announcement is ‘successful surgery’. I’ve broken fingers before and know others who’ve broken hands and not one of them every got operated on. Without knowing exactly the injury it’s impossible to say but I find it curious
