David Roddy Talks Growth After SHINING For Phoenix Suns In Summer League Game 2

yeah we had a couple of dunks there take us through with seeing you able to pull off those kind of play particular the follow yeah uh you know I just try to read the read the play uh you know coach wants us to crash the glass as much as possible especially out those Corners so um I was lucky I kind of I grabbed it and and you know landed safely that’s all I cared about to be honest how you and I know I’ve actually for but being asked to do a lot more than you would be asked to do for the regular Squad how are you embracing yeah just embracing the journey you know everybody’s path is different in the NBA so uh you know again it’s a good challenge for me to you know lead these guys also improve my game as well as you know just try to win as many games as possible so uh you know again summer league is an opportunity for all of us to grow and and showcase our talents uh and again I just take that responsibility highly and uh you know again I just want to have fun like you’re kind of ringing out your hand after that one Baseline done yeah no it’s good I just bruised my nail a little bit it was a little bit of stinger I’m I’m fine okay what have you seen from Oso in terms of his playmaking and he also look like he had active hands out there yeah he’s a great defender so you know for him to continue to grow that uh guarding in the pick and roll uh as the drop man is is huge uh getting into passing Lanes uh as well as passing the ball too uh you know again he sees it it’s just you know he has to kind of stay under control just a little bit more but again that’s just through reps and you know watching the guys in front of him so uh you know he’s he’s been doing a really good job and with Ryan obviously you know what he brings defensively offensively didn’t take a lot of Threes in college how important is it to just continue to get those up yeah no it’s it’s it’s it’s it’s crucial for sure just for anyone’s growth um you know again it’s kind of you know it’s almost weird sometimes you know especially in Bud system that you know he wants all of us to shoot and it promotes it actually so uh just having that confidence and again just trus in the work can you relate to that yeah just reading the offense and just kind of slowing down and knowing my pace and knowing where I can shoot and you know where the best option is so uh for me it’s again you know it’s still a constant learning curve but uh you know again just uh trying to understand that trying to let it go and trying to just trust the work with Coach bud how those conversations been in terms of getting a new year know you’re new coach yeah no it’s been it’s been great uh you know he’s been there through every workout and you know supporting us um you know he’s always been around so uh for him to come in and explain to us you know certain nuances of of the offense is is pretty cool um you know again he wants us to share the ball shoot it uh and just have fun what are your thoughts on Robert Franks and his experience what does that bring to a summer league roster yeah no he does he does a really good job uh he’s super professional uh you know again on the court he can really shoot it uh he’s a dynamic big uh stretch for type of guy so uh you know again he’s he’s he’s really good um you know again and that veterans ship is is needed on this on this young team h
