Ron Harper Jr. Reacts to Signing with Celtics After Injury | Summer League
questions for Ron so had this uh opportunity to come together with the Celtics here and uh getting the sign the training camp deal would that mean to you you know it just means a lot you know just getting an opportunity from the best team in the NBA you know they just came off winning the championship and you know they want me here around the organization and see what I can do so you know it’s a great opportunity great chance and I’m very grateful for it was the last year like for you I know you were with Toronto there and you end up getting H what was the rehab process like you kind of before the injury and uh I was feeling real good before the injury man but like you said you know I was going through some shoulder stuff ended up tearing my labor having surgery in December wasn’t really clear to play until June so you know still kind of getting into the flow of things but it’s been a long process you know just getting back into the flow you know that’s the longest time I’ve ever gone without playing basketball since I started hooping so just getting back in the flow things getting back in the swing has been really important for me but I feel like I’m doing a good job getting myself there how do you feel like summer League’s gone for you so far and what are your goals to accomplish here I feel like some of these gone well you know I feel like we had some team success you know one thing about me is I’m big on team over me so you know that’s been me since high school since college so just coming in with the right attitude and being able to contribute where I can contribute you know and I feel like I’ve been playing all right hopefully be playing better but you know my goal is here just to keep winning keep contributing to the team whichever way I can you know ultimately just help these guys get wins you know I know we all have goals here at Summer League you know mine is just to win as a team and do everything together and just be a part of a winning team so for Celtics fans who aren’t familiar with your game what would you want them to know about you just what you bring to the rept uh you know I just bring toughness know I be feel like I face adversity a lot so a lot of grit there things that have been embarked on me throughout my journey to get here you know in college and in high school so it’s a player that’s going to play hard play the right way and play Within himself and know his game like like that you have to kind of get your shot back like I mean it wasn’t really hard you know shooting the basketball is like right bike so I couldn’t really shoot for like 3 4 months but as soon as I got back in the gym you know jump shot felt good it felt way better than before I got hurt so just getting back into that finding that shot finding that flow you know it’s been feeling real good but just getting up shots getting up reps that’s the most important thing to see it go in so coming from having a dad who was such a glue guy during his career how has that kind of shaped your career in terms of being versatile a good Defender but also a guy like you said that’s about team yeah so you know just like you said a guy that’s about team you know my father was a great gluey back in his day but one thing about getting to the NBA is that you’re the guy at some point in your career so you know just being the guy at some point in your career you know what the guy on the team is looking for you know how to help you know the star players you know how to help the team you know how to impact the game and make winning plays so you know just I’ve been real big on that just growing up playing basketball and just like I said just goes to winning what have been your impressions of playing with JD Davis as kind of the most veteran member of the summer league team uh it’s been well it’s been good you know I’m real familiar with JD’s games just competing against him when I was playing against the main Celtics when I was with 905 when I was with the Raptors so you know he’s always been he’s always giving us a headache when we played him in the g- league so being on his team just makes it a lot easier like you said he is like the most veteran presence on the team you know he’s been in Boston for the longest time so he kind of knows what they want from him what they expect from him and he’s done a good job leading the team you know putting those values on us too what’s the experience been like playing DJ you know coach DJ a great guy man you know he knows what he’s doing he knows what he’s talking about and you know I I feel like I’ve learned a lot in a short time you know I was in Boston for what a week two weeks before this haven’t been here that long but you know I can already tell that coach DJ is a great basketball Mind Playing for him has been a pleasure you know he knows what he’s doing and he’s he’s leading this team the right way

Good luck, young man
Signed to Maine ? Or the actual roster ?
I thought he looked pretty good last night. Certainly a fine NBA pedigree.
Take away the mustache and long hair, and you’ve got his father!
His father was a good player back in the 80s and 90s. I once called him Poormen's Michael Jordan
