How much more wizardry can Peterson muster??

Front loading it is a smart move. Kind of a no-brainer actually

He’s happy getting some legit money after pissing his payday away a few yrs ago…..and the FO is happy signing him to a VERY tradeable contract down the road

  4. I listened to Locked On Hornets, and their speculation was spot on about a declining payout. Also, even though it angered a lot of Hornets fans, I believe that by re-signing Bridges, he now is our biggest available trading chip. I don’t see him being in Charlotte by year 3 of this contract. Kudos to the front office again.

No chance he is still here at the end of it, great contract

Total transparency… Charlotte is my number two team as I am a Knicks fan by birth…

…..that said I really really do look forward to the day where the hornets are a legitimate threat…. I follow them really closely and I think Brandon Miller is the guy the teams future 100% pivots on. I strongly feel you put all your eggs in that basket **now** and you build around him. Not LaMelo. Not Bridges. Not Mark Williams… they are actually in a decent spot roster flexibility wise I feel.. everyone on the team is expendable other than Miller. it’s all about culture. Brandon Miller is the right guy with the right skill set , with the right attitude at the right age with the right contract.

What happens if he does something bad again? Can the team terminate his contract?

Great deal overall. The full guarantee would be in exchange for 3yr instead of 4 or 5 and significantly lower than max price point.

3 years fills the gap until our next round of key re-signs, Mark & Miller. At that point our core will be entering their prime years and we’re in a great place to maintain continuity or make moves to shake things up. Our cap situation is perfect right now and it’s been a LONG time since we could say that.

  9. I wonder how much earnings he lost because of his dv. $50M for the last 2 years? He was gonna get a big deal
