The Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Atlanta Hawks, 87-86. Colin Castleton was fantastic for the Lakers with 17 points (8-9 FG), 12 rebounds, and 6 assists as Blake Hinson added 14 points (5-13 FG). Bronny James totaled 12 points on 5-11 shooting for Lakers.

Robert Baker (17 points, 3 rebounds) and Jarkel Joiner (17 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists) led the Hawks in the loss.

The Lakers improve to 1-2 in the NBA 2K25 Summer League, while the Hawks fall to 0-3.

    It's no secret that Bronny James is struggling to find his footing so far in the NBA Summer League or as some may say, isn't living up to the expectations people may have of him. But there are things that people should remember before they're quick to judge him.
    🔸Bronny was the 55th pick of the NBA Draft
    🔸Bronny is a 20-year-old kid dealing with the pressure of being the son of one of the undisputed greats of basketball
    Trae Young is an NBA All-Star who in his first 3 Summer League games ended up shooting 12-of-52 (23%) while having MAJOR expectations of him right out of the draft 👀
    Bronny, so far, is averaging 4.3 PPG. Let us give the kid time to adjust so he can maximize his potential for the entire NBA world to see 🌏

    Basically, he made shots that were uncontested. Completely free looks. It was a matter of can you hit an open shot or not? And let's be real, probably a chance there is pressure to ease off of him for Summer League. The reigning Finals MVP already said he ain't an NBA player.

    Bronny should wear a microphone more often cuz it makes him feel comfortable like hes streaming videogames at home … and he even got a technical foul for trash talking the refs

    Even though it was summer league level competition Bronny looked in control and showed a good amount of confidence with his shooting. If he is a 3 and D type guy then he's showing he can be useful. At 19 years old he's got time on his side to keep improving to a point where he can stick around the league (which not many 2nd rounders have done).

    I beleive once he starts playing along side his dad lil by lil coaching him up he will come around bronny has a good IQ of the game he needs to settle down a lil

    Bronny has GREAT defense, has a GREAT jump shot, and has a GREAT feel to the game. Once he learns his ROLE in games and becomes consistent he can be an NBA caliber player. Hoping for the best for ALL players out there, let's give more POSTIVITY and encourage them to do their BEST! God bless to ALL!
