Mavericks ranked 2nd in Healthy Net ret rating (9.1) this is based on the 3 best players playing together (Luka,Kyrie,Gafford)

So this would account for the rating we should have after the trade. Explanation of how it’s calculated.

“Hello babies, welcome to the Load Management Zone.

It has typically been true that "you are your net rating", or at least something close to it, but I am not so sure that rings true as much these days. So, what we have done, is to take the 2-3 "most important" players on each team, and only use the teams offensive/defensive/net rating in games those players played.

The chart below shows each team's current offensive, defensive, and net rating (taken from Basketball-Reference), as well as their healthy offensive, defensive and net rating (from the great pbpstats.com).”

I would say apart from Boston, it reflects on how the teams performed in the playoffs even though this was based on the regular season. With the addition of Klay, NAJI, Grimes. I would expect us to have an even higher rating next season. Which is very exciting.

We were the best team in the West post-trade deadline and proved it wasn’t just a late season hot streak in the playoffs. Obviously people can have different opinions in good faith but I can’t pretend it doesn’t bug me when I see some of the dismissive takes brushing off all our victories as ” shooting variance” or “good matchups”. Timberwolves snatched the Nuggets’ chain and then we gentleman swept those same Wolves and somehow everyone came away with the conclusion that Denver definitely would’ve beaten us.

Whatever, a bit of sour grapes from me. It’s only been a month since our season ended and I’m already itching for us to be back at it. Unfinished business, and all that.
