History seems to suggest that there’s almost no way that Ainge would participate in any deal that’s not a fleecing… So… It seems like it would almost definitely be a bad idea to do a deal to get Lauri, no matter how well he theoretically fit with the current Thunder roster…
My suspicion—especially with the way some of their guys played during summer league—is that the jazz are going to get stuck trying to tank midway through the year again… When they realize that they aren’t really contenders but they’ve been too good to get into the top 5 without a lucky bounce of a ping pong ball… Hopefully it’s going to be too late at that point, and a bunch of other teams start tanking aggressively, so the Thunder end up getting their pick in the stacked 2025 draft.

Y’all may not like the idea, but if we somehow fit Lauri into our core we become unstoppable. Our frontcourt was easily our weakness last year but adding in Lauri and Hartenstein this offseason gives us more size while still having a rotation full of guys who can make quick decisions and plays not only for themselves but others as well.
If we add Lauri, our rotation looks like
SGA/JDub/Dort/Lauri/Chet
Wallace/Caruso/Joe/Wiggins/Hartenstein
Insert JWill or Kenrich when need be
