[Tomer Azarly] The funniest thing about this is Kawhi Leonard, James Harden, and Tyronn Lue all *JUST* extended deals to remain with the Clippers, and all 3 did so with the knowledge that PG could walk in FA.

    >If you’re actually worried about ball and yourself, none of that matters lol.

Clippers beat writers are blasting PG

I mean Kawhi and Harden are old and are securing the bag lol I doubt they really give a shit about winning at this point.

  3. Ok_Conversation_2734

no all three of them wanted the bag

  4. jimmylamstudio

Being paid to stay in LA with little to no expectations? Sign me up

  5. dont think any of those three give a single fuck about PG

  6. Tablemannerz

? what does PG leaving have to do with getting yourself paid

  7. Annual_Plant5172

Shocker. Three individuals wanted the money and security despite knowing another individual departed for money and security.

I mean he got one last bag and gets to play on a team that’s still a viable playoff contender.

I don’t get the hate PG is getting? lol

Paul George grew up in the Los Angeles area. I grew up on Long Island I knew this. He could’ve signed with the Lakers instead of re-signing with Oklahoma, he’s just learned this recently?

  10. idk how many more stops PG needs to make before people realize he is one of the most overrated players of our generation

i dont blame them though because when his game is on its incredibly smooth and he does look like a superstar. issue is he only does that against the worst teams in the league.

then it gets to playoffs and he’ll struggle and get ridiculed. he has one bounce back game in games 1-4 where every PG fan feels vindicated because he put it together in a ‘crucial’ playoff game.

but then games 5-7 he will inevitably choke. 2021 made me believe he had it in him but that was a flash in the pan. the guy is a perennial choker and the ceiling of any team hes on is the 2nd round.

  11. Kawhi signed his extension during the season so maybe he didn’t know but Lue and Harden definitely knew he was gone. At least they have financial security that’s what they wanted so if teams trade for them they at least they got paid.

  12. They paid the three of them close to $300m combined. Did this guy expect them all to say “no thanks, we’ll wait for our buddy Paul to sign on first” ????

I don’t think this guy is a very good judge of what is “funny”

Would you refuse a raise from your job if your coworker left for a new job? What is funny?

  14. the second part of the tweet about the clippers “dominating” the lakers during his tenure is completely useless since the lakers won a championship in that span while the clippers did not

This is so dumb. We’re talking about a couple of players who are in the late stages of their careers and/or chronically injured and wouldn’t have teams lining up to sign them to huge contracts. Lue is a great coach, idk why he’d want to leave based on PG or not, lol

  16. noknownothing

TLDR: Clippers beat writer upset that he writes for the JV team.

  17. It’s fine.. If I was them I’d take the money for not Being able to play too

  18. Well Kawhi extended in January he was the first domino who prolly assumed the FO would bring back PG. Ty extended May 29th & was very aware about the contract talks between PG & the FO. Harden resigned June 30th before free agency knowing that PG was testing the waters the next day.

All this to say, Kawhi is the only one who would’ve thought PG was coming back. James & Ty knew what they were signing up for & were obviously fine with it, otherwise wouldn’t have extended.

  19. cycling_rat

They were all just concerned with getting paid I’m sure.

The ex-playeritis going on in this thread is hilarious

  21. They get to play in LA in a brand new stadium…
