feels like we fumbled this one a bit, Cam Payne for 1 year over Rokas? And I didn’t want to trade Deuce but if you can get a good C for him and bring over Rokas it was worth exploring. Hopefully Rokas has an opt out after a year.

can’t blame him, and wish him luck. maybe when deuce’s contract is up and wants to move on for a starting role and more money, he’ll finally come over to back up kolek.
swapping bogey for mikal was the first move. pushing divo the the bench means deuce is the backup 1, and not a combo (when we’re all healthy). signing cam means we have our third string in place, and if deuce regresses, he’ll get the job/minutes. i think that would have been enough to deter rokas.
BUT THEN, we drafted kolek, letting rokas know that even if deuce leaves in a few years, we have our backup 1 locked and loaded.
AND IF ALL THAT WASN’T ENOUGH, we invite the euroleague Rising Star, who we drafted with deuce and sims, and give him zero starts, favoring/featuring duane for no known reason.
rokas would have to be an illiterate moron to not read all the signs. good luck/mazel tov, rokas.

That contract is over he will be 26. Still easily a possibility that we could use him if necessary.
I like the idea that we have the rights to a player as talented as he is.
