The first reason why the OKC Thunder will dominate the west next season is because of SGA
In 2024 Shai Gilgeous Alexander averaged 30.1 points, 6.2 assists and 2.0 steals on 53% shooting leading OKC to the youngest 1 seed in the history of the NBA. Shai is a unique scorer, opting to take less 3 pointers in favor for more mid range jumpers which he makes at a 50% clip. Similar to a DeMar DeRozan Shai can score either with his back to the basket or in a face up like here where he completely losses Suggs on a turnaround fadeaway. Here he passes up the open 3 to get to his spot using the height advantage over CJ McCollum to knock it down. Shai is a big guard standing at 6 foot 6 while still having an elite ball handle and jump shot

Hartenstein is only 26yrs old. This didn't allow him to expand his game. He's gonna shoot 3'd & grow his game on OKC
It would really hurt OKC's offence to start Caruso and I Hart. Starting I Hart would replace an outside shooter in OKC's drive and shoot or pitch to 3 point shooters offense. Caruso is great defensively but only so so offensively. Whether either of those players starts will likely be driven by who the opponent is. My vote (for what it's worth) is to start Wallace instead of Caruso and let him develop. Wallace can shoot the 3 and plays very good defense. He should improve in his second year. Caruso and I Hart could anchor the second team defense. Of course that all depends on who the opponent is.
I actually can’t wait to see how much better Jdub is going to be. Not even just that but Chet too 😶 they’re both so young but so talented
J dub did also really struggle at times in the playoffs. But let's hope he learns and grows this year
I don't know how opposing teams will score on this team.

I wouldn’t say SGA bag is simple. He has tons of counters and is extremely crafty.
OKC and their clipboard intern coach are a joke . They finished first being the weakest rebounding team in the league , in possibly the weakest western conference of all time . Like if the 2 best records in the conference both get swept in the semis and the team who came third play nearly all year without Jamal Murray and the team who played the finals got trashed and the rest were barely .500 teams it is more likely they overachieved and the record looks way better than the reality or they are this new conference powerhouse with Lil NAS X playing PG??!!
Thunder fans need to understand this isn't the same team that finished #1 in the West last year. Without Giddey they might not ever be as good as they were last season. You need to stop listening to all of these so called experts who keep telling you that was a good trade because it wasn't. They have now changed the chemistry of that team. There is no guarantee they will ever be that good again. I saw it when they traded Harden. They never made it back to the finals again.
The thing is, as long as the Mavs, Denver, Suns, Wolves, and even the Lakers are still in contention, they won't win the NBA. Last year might have been a fluke, but this year is the real test. Every team in the West has improved—well, maybe not Denver as much.
J-Dub and Chet will command a big pay rise in the next couple of years. If they can afford to keep them and still pick up quality draft talent, they will be so hard to beat. The new TV rights will mean teams will have more to spend, but OKC is still a very small market team. Money has always been the issue and if these guys are serious about winning, they have to keep that it mind and not be greedy.
