Is anyone else really mad that we didn’t keep Tyler Kolek?

I mean, he was a first rounder on talent and he dropped to us. And we have NO RELIABLE POINT GUARD. And he's going to be GREAT. Call me insane but I think the point of picks is to, oh, I don't know, TAKE REALLY GOOD PLAYERS, not to turn into MORE picks in the future.

We also could’ve taken Jonny Furphy at that pick. Keeping either of them would have been a really good move for us, and having traded that pick away I see as the biggest mistake we’ve made post-Dame.

We didn’t have any more roster spots so we traded the second round picks 👍

There’s going to be an entirely new second round next season to get excited about.

We have 3 ball handlers still on the roster. We also already have 15 players and aren’t eager to move any of them.

Sure you could probably say Kolek or Furphy have more upside than Banton, but I’d take the 3 second rounders to not be in roster crunch and give another year to evaluate danalo/move players organically.

I like both Furphy and Kolek but barring some unforseen leap I can’t imagine we’re going to be kicking ourselves hard going forward for not trying to get them onto this roster.

Dude, first turn the caps lock off, and second, put the bottle down way too early to be drinking.

Nah, I was bummed we didn’t add Klintman and that Tyler Smith went 1 pick above us. Other than that, we already have a super young roster so only adding 1 rookie made sense.

Not necessarily mad about Kolek specifically, but I was a little disappointed we didn’t use at least one of our 2nd round picks. That’s where Mike Schmitz can really shine. And while I know we didn’t have any open roster spots, Banton’s contract wasn’t partially guaranteed until after the draft, so I guess the question comes down to whether or not you’d rather have Banton or someone we could have drafted in the 2nd. Personally, I would have preferred to draft someone like Johnny Furphy, even if it meant cutting Banton. Considering we did get future 2nds back, though, I’m not mad about the way things worked out. Just a bit anticlimactic.

  8. No. First, we literally have zero roster spots open. And we have too many guards.
