[Osman] Montreal’s Khem Birch thought his basketball career was over. Now, he’s representing Canada at the Olympics. “I almost wanted to cry,” he told me.

I still remember when I went to the home opener one year, and he came up on the screen during intros. He mouthed “love y’all” to the crowd, and you could tell he really loved playing here and genuinely meant it. It broke my heart when we traded him.

A misdiagnosis on his knee almost ended him. Glad to see him up and going again. And he plays for Marc Gasol’s team 🥲.

This dude should be in the NBA as a 3rd string big. He looks just as good as Powell on Canada.

Khem Birch better than me at basketball = goated (played on my elementary basketball team. We went 2-8) 🐐

I was really happy to see him on the roster. We need all the help in the frontcourt we can get and he can play a simple, effective game.
After reading this article I’m even more of a fan. Said he wasn’t very comfortable jumping onto the Olympic team after not being able to help them qualify and that he wishes this was still qualifyers so he could have contributed to them getting here. Big man, you are contributing to the team’s culture and framework with that attitude alone. I really hope that kind of stuff is contagious. Good Canadian lad.
