A lot of talk about BuSarr and rightfully so. But what were your thought on Ky’s SL performance?

For what’s he’s projected to be: outshined by Funk

Similar to Sarr, I believe we wanted to experiment with Keyshawn’s game a bit & he didn’t look too good in *that* PG/point forward role. At times he was too loose with the ball and similar to the other 2, he just needs to get stronger overall(not worried here in the least, that will come with time).

But I was PLEASANTLY surprised, outside of the turnovers, with his game. He seemed to always play at his own pace, even with his horrid turnovers he was never really rushed. His shot is real, he has great footwork on the offensive end to make up for his lack of burst/athleticism in order to get to his spots. I like his feel for the game on *and* off ball, you can tell that he’s a student of the game.

Defensively, due to his poor foot speed not sure if he’ll ever be a lockdown wing defender, BUT he uses his length extremely well to make up when he’s beat. I think if he studies his opponents offensive tendencies before his matchups, he can be an extremely valuable defender in the league. Much better than Kispert.

Overall I really enjoyed his game. If he hits his ceiling he looks like he can be a Swiss-army knife type player for a contending team. Maybe not an all-star, but a high level role player.

  3. The Ringer compared him to Joe Ingles and so far that looks about accurate

  4. I don’t think you see many people talking about him because he wasn’t great but he wasn’t bad either. He was okay. Kyshawn doesn’t really have strong instincts as an off-ball mover or defender, he takes very basic catch & shoot 3s and hits them. His foul issues need to be worked on and he can’t really dribble or pass at a high level. If he ends up being a solid stationary shooter then he will at least be useful.

He’s a capable shooter which is useful. I’ve seen people mention his handle needing work. Funny thing is I think he has good handles but when he gets pressured he doesn’t protect the ball well. It’s almost like he expects the defender to back off. As long as he hits shots I like him.

He got better from his first game, so that was good

He was very sloppy with the ball when he was trying to play a lead guard role, and he struggled on defense a bit with faster players. His jumper was as advertised, and he looked like he had decent feel off the dribble as well. I see a lot of Kyle Anderson in his game, but with much more upside because he is a shooter.

Kinda reminded me of the poonslayer himself, Otto Porter Jr
