Serbia was pretty damn close to Team USA with Jokic on the floor, but that’s what makes them so hard to beat, their bench is so overwhelmingly better than anyone else’s that it’s extremely hard to keep up for 40mn. The kind of defensive intensity they can bring for the whole game is just so tiring, Serbia’s shot quality got worse and worse as the game went on.
Still though, if USA didn’t go absolutely nuclear from 3, it would’ve been a closer game. It only takes one game where they get cold and the opponent catches fire for them to be in trouble. Not saying I would bet on it though, especially since KD seems to be back like he never left (it’s pretty unbelievable how he always comes back playing so well after injuries).
Great first game for Team USA overall, having AD and Bam inside is a cheat code in a FIBA setting. This is looking like it’s easily their best roster since (at least) 2012.

I really just don’t watch the Suns much these past few seasons but man I kinda forgot that Booker can be a tenacious defender.
I expected Ant, White, and Jrue to be great perimeter defenders but I didn’t think Booker’s got it in him. His contribution in defense on that starting lineup is a pretty big reason why the whole starting lineup work together imo.
