i may be a little bit of a booker hater but i will never understand playing booker over tatum, tatum can do everything booker does but better, booker has a little better shooting but its so minor compared to the defense, rebounding and passing that tatum brings

21:19 It’s easy to say DWhite is the better choice now because he’s playing good when he’s on the court vs what you just said about Booker and Embid. If JB was there AND playing good then the argued would be “JB is the better choice, here’s why….” Hindsight is 20/20
I’m not so much a JT fan, but just looking at his scoring is extremely unfair. Dude has one of the best rebounds/assists numbers in NBA playoffs history and he led the Celtics in all categories (including scoring). Yes JB came out clutch this playoffs, however he’s never been in a situation where he’s double teamed.
In head to head matchups with the Celtics, JT did beat everyone who’s on the starting lineup of this Team USA roster (including Durant who came off the bench the game against Serbia) while being the best player on the Celtics.
It was stupid and a bad look to not play JT for few minutes. Team USA would have won this game anyway. When we were getting our **s kicked by South Sudan in the exhibition game, JT came in with the second unit to get us back in the game. The NBA Finals MVP didn’t make the squad and the best player of the championship team was DNP: this is stupid and a bad look from Kerr either way you look at it.
And do we need to remind everyone that JT won the Gold medal 4 years ago with this team; he was the second best player behind Durant on that squad. Four years later, when he’s a much better player, he just won a championship and you can’t have him on the floor at all?
I heard Windhorst on ESPN try to make sense of this situation, he made it worse. Without saying it but his take meant Team USA would have lost this game if JT has played. This is beyond disrespectful.

They’re there to win not to give out minutes. It’s pretty simple KD was available and Kerr wanted to see where he was at and he came out balling. He’ll get his chance if lebron and KD go cold. He’s just not tha guy out there
Book and Embid has been the most questioned selections from the start both are defensive liabilities and ball stoppers on offense. The argument that you needed all bigs against Serbia was not relevant once you started Embid who's your worst defending big especially against Joker.

Lets not try and defend or justify this. It is an un warranted level of disrespect. Jayson could literally be relaxing and celebrating his championship still. Instead he cut his celebration short to try and do something special for his country and is getting shit on for it. Kerr is out here running 3 guard sets and playing guys like Ant who has done literally nothing to earn any of the love or hype he gets. The Tatum hate is really getting ridiculous at this point.

I’m probably in the minority but I’m glad that Tatum isn’t playing much. He’s played so much the past few seasons I feel as if he needs a long break from ball. I know he’s only 26 but he’s played so much meaningful ball since he was 19! Without much rest between seasons. Also, Embiid doesn’t belong on the court. He’s way too slow
Truthfully, Kerr would not do what he did to Tatum to LBJ, KD or Curry. Something happened behind closed doors. Another thing, Booker is not better than JT. This was not a good look.

He should've gotten significant playing time period, idc about the exhibition games cuz everyone at one point or another played poorly. Also the bigger issue here is that Kerr refused to run a single for Tatum, he had to create for himself or create for others. Kerr regulated him to a spot up shooter role which is a set up, period.
