you'd have to be a fool to not believe the entire league, including USA basketball, is trying to tear the Celtics apart. Steve Kerr's goal isn't to not win NBA championships. The filthy miamians goal isn't to not win championships. They realize they can't beat the Celtics on the court so, just like draymond and caleb martin, they're going to employee dishonorable tactics.
Kerr doesn't overthink, he does just think he's the smartest guy in the room, he thinks he's a step ahead of everyone. Just look at his history of manipulative and dishonest responses to any question he's ever had to answer.
They are given the torch.
