Are we better than we were yesterday? Yes! Do we still need a backup 5? Ideally, yes. Just a big body to let Mitch get a blow, if we can keep him healthy.
What do you think about Jamarion Sharp as a possible backup center for Mitchell Robinson? 7’3 ¾" w/ a 7’9” wingspan and 9’10” standing reach, Sharp is among the most prolific shot-blockers in recent NCAA history (career 17.3 BLK%). Jamarion led the NCAA in block percentage the last two seasons, and finished 2nd in the stat to current Jazz C Walker Kessler 3 years ago. He's only 22, as well!
He also recently played for the Dallas Mavs summer league and averaged 3 Blocks per game in only 15 Minutes per game.
ALSO, much cheaper contract than Jericho Sims is on, so I think the numbers work out.
Could he be the guy to answer our backup center woes? His height would bolster us there a lot, and with Precious, Hukporti, AND Mitchell Robinson, we'd be more than set.
Possible? Crazy? IDK. I like his game.
