Havent seen enough of Sims to view him as a key backup but I did hear he has been in the gym working on a jumper which wouldnt hurt his chances to impress.
Jericho Simms needs more playing time and training to become an all-round Center like Hartenstein. But will the Knicks trade, cut, or keep him? We will see 👀 by the end of the preseason.
In a Thibs’ scheme centers need to be solid defenders and rebounders rather than shooters. He needs to stop training with guards and work with somebody like Olajuwan who can hone his paint control and defensive skills. These are much more crucial weaknesses in his game, especially in this system. Thibs doesn’t scheme for stretch 5’s; it’s not how our offense is built.

Well, they just gave Achiuwa 6 mil.. w/out the “no trade” clause so I’d say both him & Sims are gonna have to battle for that back up 5 spot or end up being apart of a trade by the deadline for an impact big..
Stopped watching at 49 seconds in. Sims is a G-league player. You are just engaging in wishful thinking. Sims can jump but he can't rebound, he's a weak defender and can't shoot any better than Mitch. At times, he's lost on the court. We hear rumors that he is working on a jump shot. He never worked on a jump shot before? Not in college? Not in high school? Not before then? He wasn't a scorer in college. He has not shown any sign of upside. I wish guys would stop this ridiculous pumping of him. We need to get rid of him asap.
He has POTENTIAL but I can’t forgot in the Indiana series where they pressed full court and sims couldn’t dribble past half court. He never looks composed and confident

ill always believe in sims but with that vert and strength he needs to be better at defense. I hope he works on that this summer

That new coach , Mark Bryant , is supposed to be good at training big men . His athleticism is great . He needs to learn defense .
