He could never swallow his pride and be a part of a team where he wasn't the focus until it was too late. Great scorer and as pure a hooper as they come, but his attitude and lack of playoff success makes me think Melo belongs where he belongs.
In an alternate universe Melo came to the Bulls instead of New York and the whole narrative is different around his career.

He didn’t get a chip. Plain and simple he wasn’t one of those best guys on a championship team. He had some runs, but melo lacked defense, he lacked rebounds for a good amount of his career, at his size with his game he should’ve been averaging 9-10 easy every year. He didn’t play make as much as I thought his skill would’ve warranted. Loved melo when he was here in Denver, but I think people try to put him in dwade/lebron category because of the draft ties. But melo gets his due, I just think people don’t like his true standing.
