Sounds like a training camp move to me. I think those players are all given 1-year deals.
He averaged 4,1 blocks last season for Western Kentucky. There was also a season where he averaged 5,8 blocks . Most likely just a case of being taller and bigger than everyone else but still crazy 2k level stats.

I’m glad they signed him. He is a decent option to have in reserve to play some minutes when Kleber, Lively and Gafford miss games due to injury. He’s a solid paint protector, rebounder and lob finisher. Hopefully he can work with Tyson Chandler and the rest of the big guys and make some all around improvements and dominate the paint in the G-League until they need him for 5-15 minutes here and there in NBA games.

A 7 ft 5 defensive stopper and rebounder is good to have. Could put him in the game for short spurts to negate the height advantage of opponents like Wemby or Porzingis. They shoot over most players too easily but would have to drive around Sharp. It's a good option to have.
He looked damn near unplayable against scrubs….
