We Know Why The Rockets Are Being Weird…

The Houston Rockets have had an interesting offseason, including not giving extensions to young future stars Jalen Green and Alperen Sengun… but now we know why!

  1. If i was the rockets I'd build around sengun, I'm super low on green ever reaching his potential as a first option and I prefer senguns fit with guys like jibari, eason and Thompson going forward more so then I like those guys with green.

  2. The Rockets payroll is really confusing, a "rebuilding" team is paying $130M to someone who isnt a long term fit w/ the team,
Reed Sheppard is already making more than 10 other players on the roster,

and their main attraction, Jalen Green has comparable raw stats to a guy like Cam Thomas…

  3. Cash out with Green to get a more established wing. Was really hoping on Mikal Bridges before he was traded but now, if the could find someone who can fill that same role, they’re gonna be really good for a really long time

  4. Great video 🙂 a lot of casuals are unaware of the reason why the Rockets haven't given them their extensions yet. You broke it down very well

  5. Bruh the rockets had to spend the money on brooks and Fred it was non optional either they could use that money or just lose it for nothing. They had to spend the money THAT offseason

  6. Hey bro, just wanted to randomly say that I love this channel. I like how much it has evolved

  7. Hot take if Houston trade dillion Brooks n 1 or 2 1st round picks for Brandon Ingram they will be a playoff team and in 1 or 2 years a real contender in the west n for the chip

  8. I know I'm going to get eaten alive in the comments – because nobody but Rockets fans is watching this – but you're massively overrating them. This team is nowhere near contending. Their win projection is more or less where it should be. They're a young 2k team. They have a lot of young talent but they don't have the superstar power, and unless one of their three young core guys (I like Sheppard but his ceiling is nowhere near a superstar) massively outplays their projections, they never will be contenders unless they bring one in. They're a play-in team with the potential to move up in the next few years, and that's it.

  9. Thanks for listening to my tweet. I feel like louisville will sqeak out a win over miami but will lose to kentucky so i think 9-3 is about where i predict them

  10. I predict Rockets don’t make the playoffs and they have locker room issues. As a Raptors fan Van Vleet is always eyeing his next big contract and he got jealous of Scottie Barnes… He’s definitely going to create a toxic work environment for Reed Sheppard. He did that his last year in Toronto and as the leader killed team culture being selfish. Trust me Fred knows they can opt out next summer and it’s going to affect him. He shooting is going to plummet and he’s going to blame his younger teammates.

Green and Sengun aren’t going to be happy with all those other guys in the draft getting paid and them having to wait and see or prove they are worth it. They will be a play in team who doesn’t make the playoffs next year I promise.

  11. Sengun is overrated and ass! Skinny , not physical, mid rebounds , can’t shoot . What are you guys seeing i been screaming this all year. Thank god he got hurt and showed the truth.

  12. If we gave Sengun the extension Jalen would be like wtf and possibly cause problems. Jalen needs to prove he deserves it .

  13. Rockets could easily lose Green and Sengun if they aren't paying them the max. Which would make them so much worse

  14. What you didn't talk about is that Sengun and Green can also sign the qualifying offers in 2025. Then become a complete free agent in 2026. Then can leave the Rockets for nothing. Obviously the probability of this is not high, but its a possibility, especially if the Rockets don't plan to offer maxes to Green/Sengun and they get mad and want to leave Houston. Another thing to consider is as they get close to restricted free agency their trade value drops significantly. Finally, if you go all the way and have Green/Sengun sign a max with another team in restricted free agency and you match that offer, what you get is a Ayton situation where you're paying a max to a player that doesn't want to play for you and might be playing mid intentionally to be traded. Basically there is a reason NBA teams offer the max, and its to make the player happy above all, because any other plan makes players mad and not want to play for your team anymore

  15. There's no way you said playoff contender…

Thunder wolves Mavs nuggets top 4 set

Lakers pelicans suns Kings those are the next 4 assuming health

Then you talk about clippers Memphis and the warriors fighting for the play in. Please explain to me how the rockets are better than any of these teams

  16. i know they're young, but for me Sengun and Green are two second option, and i think that it'll be a big point in these next seasons (maybe they will figure it out)

  17. If true, Houston needs to move away from this acquiring KD plan. KD can’t move the needle for y’all, especially in the West. They should adopt the OKC model. Which they already mimic in a way with the mixture of youth and experience w/ good contracts.

  18. Thank you for making this video so people will stop saying the Rockets want to trade Sengun. Most Rockets fans know this – the only reason this gets discussed is for click bate. Similarly, the Rockets have no interest in Durant, Booker yes, but not Durant. Its all click bate or people just trying to create news when there is nothing else to talk about.

  19. I still don't think the Rockets will be competing until they have a direction. Pelicans have been experiencing this issue. All that talent with no direction…
