Can Xavier Tillman emerge as the primary back-up big for the Celtics while Porzingis is recovering? What – or who – is standing in his way? How does he fit into Mazzulla’s system? Part 1 of some of the roster battles ahead.

Really looking forward to his passing ability being used more. In Memphis he was always finding Ja or someone as they’re cutting, has Jrue/White/JB’s name written all over it

I’d test Neemias Queta over Tillman. The only thing he’s lacked is proper opportunity from the Celtics

Of course he can. And if he’s smart he’s working on his corner 3 and top of the key 3 all off season.

Depends on the matchup, but Kornet is still here, too.

I love Tillman and am rooting for him to get more minutes, but Kornet had an excellent season as a backup and it seems like people are willfully trying to forget that sometimes. Career bests in almost every major statistic, developed fantastic interior skills, better verticality, better physicality, fantastic pick and roll. Some matchup issues in the playoffs shouldn’t just wipe your memory of him holding down the floor for all of last year.

If he develops his 3ball then sure, but Kornet was very very solid last year. Does what you need out of a big who doesn’t shoot in a 5 out offense. Either way as long as they give Al solid rest i could care less

I wish he would get his corner 3 ball up to 33% consistently at least. Otherwise our spacing is gonna suffer. I still like having Tillman in there for his energy.
