The REAL REASON Why Jonathan Kuminga is UNTOUCHABLE

The REAL REASON Why Jonathan Kuminga is UNTOUCHABLE

Is Jonathan Kuminga really who the Warriors think he is?

  1. Steph Curry about to go on another revenge tour.

Being underestimated is always extra fuel for him! 👍👏🥳🥳🔥🔥🤩🤩

  2. Why is Markkanen even a topic of conversation? Jonas Valanciunas at the 5. He's rated in the top 10 of centers, affordable, and can up his game to suit the team's needs.

  3. Kuminga is already really good and only getting better on a team that is more often than not one of the last teams left in the playoffs.
Conversely Lauri Markkenen had a really good year last year on a team that didn't even sniff the playoffs and is being run by a guy in Danny Ange who doesn't seem to actually want to build a team, seems more like he just wants to stack draft picks.
Out of the two, I pick Kuminga for my team 100 times out of 100.

  4. I'm starting to see a Toni Kuco treatment by the fans. So sad, they are going to blame JK for Steph not winning titles….really tough spot for him.

  5. Not sure if your aware though, Post hasn't been signed and can't be signed unless we release someone.

  6. Goodness Swish when you ride with a guy you can't find no fault in him. I told you all last season about Kuminga and his play. He's not committed on the defensive end of the floor no more than Markkenen, plus he doesn't bring the same energy every night, taking nights off. He still plays silly like a kid in key moments in the game, and he focuses more on his offense than playing defense. I told you that about Jordan Poole when you was all over that guy, I told you Poole was overrated and didn't play defense but you wouldn't listen. It's former NBA players already predicting Poole will be out of the league once his contract is up. Keeping Kuminga is a big risk this season. Heck the Warriors aren't even predicted to make the playoffs next season.

  7. JK has all of the physical tools, just lacks IQ. Theres the risk that some guys never learn the game at the NBA level, but I feel like Kuminga is worth the risk.

  8. I'm a kuminga fan so there is bias in this comment, but I think keeping him and podz +picks is the move for the warriors long term. One thing I don't think people are talking or speculating about is; what if Curry said "don't trade Podz"?
Also is Lauri gets hurt and doesn't play for a season or a half a season, do you pay him next season?
So far I think the front office has been playing chess.

  9. thanks for opposing warriors twitter. that crowd looses focus of the details of the game and i really think Jk, Podz, moody, tjd are the future and the future starts now.

  10. Dubs dodged a bullet! LM is injury prone, plays soft for a big, and, for all his stats, is not a proven winner. He might be a nice piece, but not worth anything close to Ainge’s wet dream demands at this stage of his career. Utah may even come to regret giving LM that huge bag.

  11. He’s already elite around the rim. I wanna see JKs jump shot and defense go up while the stuff he’s built on to this point stays consistent.

  12. JK is one of the best young players I've seen on both ends of the court. He's intense and competitive. We'll see how far he can go. Improving his 3 a couple points would make an impact.

  13. kuminga has been said to be the future and yet his playing time does give him the opportunity to learn and show it.

  14. We should make the change now, with a coach that has a vision to grow with the younger players, now, this season

  15. Kuminga's athleticism is undeniable, incredible, but possibly overvalued in how it contributes to winning …. possibly analogous to the shinny red sports car that is overvalued, etc… While his defense could use some work (as pointed out in the video), my main Kuminga concern is basketball IQ – specifically vision and decision making. Kuminga historically has lacked both. DG, SC, Podz, and Markkanen have an abundance of basketball IQ and all make each other better. However, I don't think Kuminga makes his teammates better, and I'm nervous every time he has the ball in his hands and has to make a decision that isn't athletically blowing by a single person or lifting up for a shoot over a smaller person. When teams clog the lane, he get's frustrated and makes poor decisions that often don't work well. He lacks vision, variety, and multiple dimensions. DG, SC, Podz, and Markkanen do not have these problems. While they don't have Kuminga's athleticism, they'll work better and smarter as a team making them multidimensional and better. The 5th player could even be slow-mo. He has a great basketball IQ and is a great role player and connector.

Who knows what Kuminga could be this year, in two years, or in 3 years, etc…? He could develop an incredible basketball IQ within 3 years. Or not! Who knows? However, as of the end of last season he was still significantly lacking in this area (although his basketball IQ was improving slightly compared to the previous year). It was difficult to see him and SC play together at times because JK just couldn't get it. And while he was spectacular in some games and had a few where he was the best player and won the game, these were few and far between. Mostly, I'd cringe when he tried for the 4th time to unsuccessfully power through a clogged lane or freak out when the double team came or make a bad pass or miss the correct pass/option. If Kuminga doesn't improve quickly in these areas or the Warriors don't get a player like Markkanen then SC's remaining years will likely be wasted.

I would not trade Podz at this point. His basketball IQ and motor are off the charts (best +/- on the entire team last year and on a cheap contract). Additionally, his potential as a connector, orchestrator, floor general, etc…. are really high. I would never trade Podz and Kuminga for Markanen (need to keep at least one of them). Podz potential , favorable salary, etc… trading both would be insanity, and for reasons previously stated would prefer to trade Kuminga and keep Podz, but could see possibly trading Podz in a fair trade but would never include Kuminga in that trade. Need to keep Podz or Kuminga at a minimum. However, as much as I love M.Moody and his potential. I would consider a Kuminga, Moody, plus 2 or 3 first round picks for Markkanen. I would not give anymore, and while I'm sure D.Ainge is demanding a Mikal Bridges type package that is ridiculous. I'd rather take my chances with the current Warriors roaster then provide a Mikal Bridges type package for Markkanen, etc…

Markkanen for Kumminga, Moody, and picks is interesting (plus possibly Looney or something similar to make the salary #'s work …. wouldn't mind trading Wiggins, but know one wants him) because the skill and basketball IQ of DG, SC, Podz, and Markkanen is worth a go and could produce incredible results. Risky but could be special. Would still have a solid bench, and could possibly make a strong run. There is no one else to get, and unless Kuminga takes a giant leap in basketball IQ this year or unless Wiggins finds his game, then this year will look a lot like last year.

Possibly this isn't so bad. The new bench looks solid. Love KT but it was time for him to go for many reasons, and I think that will result in improvement. And also speculative to how much better GSW record and overall performance would have improved without DG ridiculous suspensions. Still, DG keeps his head cool and plays 90%+ of the games, etc.. then GSW are a playoff team and not a play in team. But doesn't seem like this roster will likely make a deep playoff run or meaningfully play for a championship with the current roster, unless Kuminga and/or Wiggins make leaps and play significantly better.

  16. I Never wanted to trade the Baby Dubs. Because of Coach Kerr we couldn't see them have enough playing time since they were drafted! It is maybe unfair for Steph and Dray, but many stars are not interested to join the dubs, so they have to play and win with the Rooks.

  17. People tend to overlook the fact that Markannen is about to get PAID next season, and the Dubs simply don't have the cap space to pay him. Why jeopardize their entire post-Steph future to MAYBE get marginally better with Lauri while trading away all their assets? Lauri is a beast, but it doesn't make sense for our Dubs.

  18. I am glad we did not get r@ped by danny ainge to get laurie. Cant panic, jk took a leap when he finally got real mintutes. I still remember 2 yars ago yellijg at the tv for kerr to play jk ij the playoffs when we had nothing cooking
