Ant-Man had a tough game today, but Team USA still needs him to win the Gold

Edwards saw James and the OGs take over the 4th quarter vs Serbia to win the Semifinals matchup in an exhilarating game. The young phenom had a tough first 3 quarters (DNP in the 4th), but it’s okay — he’ll be much better going forward.

  1. He was 1-3, I wouldn’t call that a rough game. Missed a few open threes. He couldn’t really get a rhythm going due to the nature of how this game was playing out, they played from behind so the veterans of the squad had it in their hands. I had to level set my expectations for Ant during the Olympics, I said if he scores 10-15 a game, that’s phenomenal. This was the only game he didn’t, so no big deal. He will get some impact buckets next game

His defense looks so lackadaisical it’s infuriating. When his shot isn’t falling the bare minimum he should give is lock down defense with insane pressure on ball. Booker gave more down the stretch on defense than I’ve seen Ant all tournament. I don’t get what’s not registering on the defensive end.

This was the gut check. Ant is getting 25/5/5 in the final. Him and Durant gonna eat.

He definitely had his worst Olympics game but hopefully watching these legends like Bron, Curry, KD, and working with coaches like Spoelstra provides a lot of learning opportunities for him. These are some of the things I’d like to see him improve on:

-Staying engaged and glued to his defender when he’s not guarding the guy who has the ball
-Boxing out when a shot goes up instead of causally walking toward the rim
    -Not telegraphing his passes

Still though. The dude is exceeding so many expectations as a young superstar. His ceiling is MVP

He was gambling too much on the passing lane steals this game I think. I noticed two times he tried for it and left his man open for 3. Worked against Puerto Rico but def not Serbia. Learning experience for him but I believe he will bounce back next game.

Bros too eager to do the under the leg dunk haha.

Im glad he had a bad game and they still won. This will be good for him, and having guys like KD and Steph around to help him process it in the right way is going to be nice.

I’m hoping he was still feeling the after effects of his surprise bday party. Even on the bench no one sat by him and he had both arms in the chairs. Wouldn’t doubt he was feeling it

He’s still the dagger for the 2nd squad, and Ill die on that hill 😤
