Deuce is the NBA’s Best Kept Secret

NBA's Best Kept Secret

What are some reasonable expectations for McBride heading into this season. I'm unclear on his role because we brought Cam Payne in (& drafted Kolek but he might not play much this year).

What are some benchmarks Deuce should be hitting (in terms of totals, per game averages, minutes etc).

    “Can run the point”.

The one thing he can’t do well…. Yet

The bench just got more crowded so the minutes he was playing in the 2nd half of the season and playoffs are going to be reduced obviously. I’d guess: 20 mpg, 9 pts per game

Needs to have more confidence and iq in breaking down the defense so others get open

Thibs runs 4 guards 1 big so there’s mins for Payne,  deuce n kolek

Probably a trade piece if our center situation gets desperate.

he’s not a secret. He’s a nice 3&D guy. He’s improved taking it to the rim and adding some mid range stuff to keep defenders honest.

McBride is last in the rotation. He’s the 9th guy.

I think when Brunson sits you see something like McBride/DD/Josh/Jules/Precious

Not to be pedantic, but the article named him the Knicks best kept secret, not the NBA’s best kept secret. That said, I’m excited to see his growth but I’m not sure of his long-term fit because he’s probably too small to be a starting 2 next to JB. I think he’ll grow into a very solid starting caliber player in the next 2 years, but it might have to be somewhere else.

to me Mcbride is a starting point guard on a team with a ball dominant wing , where all he has to do is get the ball up court and pass it to the superstar and spot up somewhere

and on the other side defend like hell.
