Do Grant Hill even like Trae ?

I know this is random & kinda late but is a honest question .. I can’t remember the last time he spoke highly of Trae especially considering he plays in his own backyard.. hell I read he even considered ja for the 24 Olympics even with how little he played .. obviously Trae could do a lot for team USA but at the very least he couldn’t do what Hali did ? And again the fact he’s on a team you’re heavily invested in Trae couldn’t get that call to enjoy that kinda experience? Hopefully our guy gets that call for 28 but honestly as long as grant is there my hopes aren’t that high

My biggest gripe is people believe Trae would play the same way he play for the hawks which I truly don’t believe would be the case.

As much as it sucks he wasn’t chosen, it would suck more if he was benched like Hali. They would clown on Trae way more than they did on Hali… I know for them medal is a medal, just from my perspective I’m glad he wasn’t put in that position

Let’s be real. There were 12 point guards last season that had a higher BPM than Trae, and he missed a significant number of games with injury. He didn’t deserve to make the team. If he played like a top 3 point guard and was healthy he would’ve made it.

I recall everyone singing his praises, him doing national commercial campaigns, the Hawks getting a Christmas Day game and tons of National TV games the year after the ECF run. This team, and Trae (outside of the 21 – 22 regular season when he balled out) hasn’t played good, winning basketball in recent years. If we start winning games and Trae returns to the all-NBA caliber player he was a couple of seasons ago all of those accolades will come.

Trae Young wasn’t considered for the same reasons James Harden wasn’t: there really isn’t a place on the US Men’s basketball squad for guys who are ball stoppers on offense and net negatives on defense.

He’s an undersized, ball dominant guard, who isn’t a lights out shooter. What is he bringing to that team?

If the Hawks can squeeze in as a top 4 seed withing the next two seasons, I think he’ll be looked at a little more closely as someone for the next Olympics.

  7. Can we stop with this victim complex. Trae had his chance and they didn’t think he was a good fit for the team. Has nothing to do with “liking”.

Trae would really have to improve his defense to be warranted for this team imo. All of them are good to elite playmakers on the roster. He’s not so good of a playmaker that you can disregard his defense, but his shooting would be amazing

Only success starved Hawks fans like Trae.

Probably. He hates Tatum and Jaylen Brown for some reason.
