This is going to be crazy, but hear me out. The most underrated Knick of all time is Patrick Ewing. He went toe to toe with Jordan when he was surrounded by mediocre role Players. You give him another All Star and we win the title. He was an incredible player who in his prime his best teammate was a glorified JR Smith.
Ewing was a monster defensively and offensively, and we failed to surround him with enough talent.

All-time, probably someone like Richie Guerin from the 50s/60s who is in the Hall of Fame, 3x All-NBA, and 6x All-Star that many Knicks fans don’t even know about, despite him still being a Knicks top 10 in points and PPG.\
More recently, I’m going to agree with u/mingoski ‘s call of Charlie Ward, who still is a Top 10 Knick by BPM and VORP, despite never getting a single accolade. I was also a huge Shumpert fan.

Derek Harper. He was the missing piece that made those 90’s teams from a play9ff team into a championship calibre team.
Randle until he delivers in the playoffs he’ll never get the love he deserves. Is it fair? Of course not he cant help getting injured but its New York not Utah. And that excuse wont fly 3 years in a row. And if we fail this year im afraid he might be the fall guy. Because theres always one, and it wont be Thibs or the Nova Knicks. Regardless, he’ll always be a Knick Legend to the real fans.
Josh Hart and OG. Much like Derek Harper. Those 2 “role players” made us be able to compete. Im not talking about a first round win over the Cavs level of competing . Im talking about compete, compete. Against the likes of the Celtics, TWolves and Denver.

According to Knicks fans or according to NBA fans? If it’s NBA fans it’s easily Brunson. Only Dame and Curry can have an offense run through them as a true pg and score at will the way Brunson can. But he’ll never get that respect and be put in the same category as those two.
If it’s Knicks fans then it’s probably John Starks. Prime John Starks was an absolute menace and his game would’ve translated even to this day.

Kidd was one of the reasons we did so well that season.

i’d limit this to like 94 onwards because the sample size is too big. who knows, maybe Dick the Knick was the funniest or most annoying, but no one really knows Dick the Knick in 2024.
