I always wonder why some teams trade players within their division that could haunt you later. I say no to Jarred Vanderbilt. You don't need another injury prone player on the roster. I still don't see any teams trading for Zach because of his injury history and that contract. (D) 12

Now, why would lakers do this?! Doesn’t make sense for the lakers. No one wants Lavine.
Not a Lakers fan, but based on their roster construction, their biggest holes are the 2 and 3 position. Scoring wasn't the issue for them. It was their defense. They need very athletic 2 and 3s that play both ends of the floor.
Rui is awesome, but he really needs to play the 4. He's never going to play the 4 unless he's playing in Non- LeBron minutes.
So they put him as the 3… And he's AWFUL at navigating screens and terrible at chasing around off ball players.
He got absolutely cooked by MPJ in the playoffs.
And then Reeves/DLo are basically redundant. Neither one of them are athletic enough to really defend the other teams best guards. Reeves puts a ton of effort on defense, but he wasn't able to bother Murray at all.
I don't think Lavine solves that issue. Not unless I'm missing something, and he's an insane 2 way guard?

Do not trade Ayo. Please. He's one of the few energy guys we had last year. He should be peaking soon. Don't get rid of him now. Zack has offense but we never should have given him that kind of money. Leave the gun, take the cannoli.
