  1. Sam DESERVES That Opportunity much More than these 3rd & 4th X’s LOOSING NON-MELINATED Coaches like the one that’s coaching @Trey straight up 2X Loser…

  2. As a Celtics fan, Sam does deserve the opportunity to be a head coach, but I'd love for him to stay with the C's for at least 2 more years. Hopefully, the Celtics 3peat in this time, and then they break up the team and Sam parts ways with the Celtics and becomes a head coach on another team. We already lost Charles Lee (assistant coach) to the Hornets and Jeff Van Gundy (senior consultant) to the Clippers. I would love to see Rondo on the Celtics' coaching staff as Sam's potential replacement.

  3. When he was in Milwaukee Sam was nothing but a class act‼️ We miss him in the 414. He will get his opportunity.

  4. That klay thompson story is interesting and shows how these GMs don’t listen to the actual basketball guys on draft decisions

  5. He's going to be disqualified for some jobs because he's not a person that is going to be easily controlled. Sam is the type of guy that will allow other people in the organization make coaching decisions of the team he's coaching. Sadly, the best way to get a job in today's NBA is to have relationships with star players. But that comes with a price because than your job security is entirely relied upon keeping that guy happy.

  6. As a San Antonio Spurs fan, Sams a legend on and off the court. Im so happy that he did not get the Lakers job. Thats a true blessing from god for his career

  7. The way Sam talk, he doesn't sound like head coach material, which is why he has never had that opportunity. Being a head coach is talking like a leader and being able to convince people that you have the intellectual ability to manage and lead players, staff, and deal with the media in addition to a strong basketball knowledge and philosophy. Sam talks and sound like an assistant coach.

  8. Everyrthing the lakers stand for completely clashes with this mans character. Its good they didnt waste his time

  9. I’ve been saying Sam should be a head coach for years! He’s got the respect and experience give that man a shot

  10. Sam is not articulate enough. He may be smarter than many present HCs, but in today's media conscious society it really helps to be articulate. Why do you think so many of these coaches over the past couple of decades came from broadcast booth. They raised eyebrows with their public speaking. Listen to so many of the younger players today. They do not sound hoodish. They internally are not going to immediately respect someone who doesn't have a presentation as polished as theirs.

  11. I’m not saying it’s a valid reason at all to not hire him but u know how nba is, I thinks it’s because he prob doesn’t interview good. He’s on a podcast with another Basketball ball player just vibing & it seemed rough to get his point across on questions. Look at the difference when he starts telling story’s he’s so much smoother telling his story’s then when he’s being asked questions

  12. How are the warriors old? Dray is only 34 and should still be in his semi prime. Genetics screwed him though and he looks 44 😂 he always calling people his age old and that’s only because he looks 10 years older then he is 🤦‍♂️

  13. I meannnn why would you expect the Lakers to be logical and give this man a job when you see how much of a train wreck their coaching hires have been.

  14. IF SAM CASSELL WAS WHITE HE WOULD BE ON HIS SECOND OR 3RD HEAD COACHING OPPORTUNITY LIKE SIMILARY SITUATED WHITE NBA PLAYERS
    1.SCOTT SKILES ( CHICAGO, PHOENIX, ORLANDO,MILWAUKEE)
    2. VINNY DEL NEGRO ( CHICAGO ,CLIPPERS)
3..MIKE DANTONI ( DENVER, PHOENIX, KNICKS ,ROCKETS, LAKERS)
    4. JEFF HORNACHECK(KNICKS
    5. KURT RAMBIS ( LAKERS TIMBERWOLVES ,KNICKS
    6.SCOTT BROOKS( THUNDER, BULLETS)
    7. LUKE WALTON( LAKERS ,KINGS)
    8.KEVIN MCHALE ( ROCKETS, TIMBERWOLVES)
    9. RANDY WHITTMAN( CLEVELAND , MINNESOTA,WASHINGTON)

  15. The big with Klay Thompson, John Wall Bradley Beal would be dangerous in the East Especially against the cavs LeBron team with no help but the big 3 of warriors is still better so Klay was lucky he went to the warriors dynasty

  16. Celts fan here – I was thrilled when we hired Sam as an assistant coach last summer. Fantastic player and by all accounts a great coach and leader. Jrue and KP were obviously huge adds for us, but Coach Sam was a massively underrated piece of that title run.

Selfishly I want him to stay, but if I'm being real he's overdue for a shot at a head coaching spot. Shout-out to Draymond for supporting Coach Sam and for consistently using his platform to support and elevate guys who get overlooked and undervalued for bulls**t reasons.
