Ideal? Teach him to shoot no problem. In reality? No, probably not.

Without being able to watch, Vando is ideal as a screener and mover. He’s not great in the dunker slot. He’s not great in the corner (likely never will be).

We need to think of him as Aaron Gordon in Denver. Lots of screen actions, some decision making, movement without the ball.

I’m eager to watch after work and see if Pete thinks similarly.

Another great film write up by Pete. Aside from improving his own individual scoring, Vando can definitely do a lot of what Hayes was doing with the DHO’s. But like Pete said, he needs to improve as a finisher/lob threat so defenses aren’t so willing to give him space on this action. Vando is usually looking to score or set himself up to fight for an offensive rebound in most cases. I wonder if Redick will have him go away from that philosophy and set up more off-ball screens to free up someone like D’Lo/AR/Christie or even Knecht.
