How about when we had to start Romeo Langford against the Nets in the playoffs?

I think it’s telling that we got way better when Schroder was traded, but I don’t know if he started enough games to qualify. Tyler Zeller might be my pick though I didn’t hate seeing him out there.

Evan Fournier or Jabari Parker were on their last legs with us, and Iβm sure one of them started a game or two.

You kinda need to define “starter” but I got Vitaly Potapenko from 99-20. Started 72 games that season and SUCKED.

Sebastian Telfair

Started a game? Phil Pressey. Started over 10 games? Brandon Hunter.

NOTE: completely agree with Russell as “Best” but then where is Bird gonna fit on this matrix? Best passer? maybe, maybe Rondo or another PG. Best shooter? Maybe, maybe Ray Allen. Best in post? Probably McHale. Funniest? He has legendary shit talking chops but is that “funny”? IDK man IDK

I think you need to define “starter”. To me, this has to be someone who played at least 60 games in the starting lineup in a single season for the Celtics, not someone who occasionally started or was thrust into the lineup midway through the season because of injury. Basically, someone that the Celtics brass brought in to play starter minutes and then proceeded to play like shit.
Romeo Langford currently has the most upvotes, but I wouldn’t consider him a starter at all. Amir Johnson fits the above starting criteria, but he’s definitely not the worst starter, he at least had positive VORP in the two seasons he started. Vitaly Potapenko is a better answer to this question, he had -0.7 VORP in the 99-00 season when he started 72 of 79 games.

I missed the last post but itβs really wholesome that Bill Russell won the Best category.

Consistent, multi year? Mark Blount. Worst hands on a player I can actually remember watching
Marc Blount
Todd Day
Started 27 games for the 15-67 ’96 team
We have to take Jeff Teague into consideration here
Sebastian Telfair. That guy was such a douche. Asked them to take Maxwellβs 31 out of the rafters because he grew up on 31st street.
I can’t wait for Grant Williams’ landslide victory as most annoying.
