My ranking for the special edition jerseys all time:
1. The 2021/22 City Edition: The perfect Grizzlies jersey. Combines elements of Vancouver Grizz (neck and arm borders), grit and grind Grizz (dark blue and yellow color scheme), and next gen Grizz (MEM design). Very simple and sleek. Looked so good on TV too with all the dark yellow accessories.
2. The 2022/23 City Edition: Probably the coolest of them all. Based off local hip hop album covers. Black, gold, and baby blue with a chrome diamond font. Also, a hidden grill on the bottom. Elite.
3. The 2020/21 Throwback: Black, red, and teal just works. The first ever Memphis Grizzlies jersey on our modern stars was awesome.
4. The 2019/20 Throwback: The teal Vancouvers. This is every non-fan’s favorite. I know multiple non Grizz fans who bought a teal Morant jersey just because of how cool it is.
The 2022/23 City (black MEM) was too boring imo. The 2017/2018 City (white) wasn’t good. The 2018/2019 City (grey and yellow) were AWFUL. The 2020/201 City (Isaac Hayes) was liked by many but I really didn’t care for it.
We were in the black jersey era, now it’s time for the white jerseys. It looks like this year we get the white Vancouvers and next year the white OG Memphis ones. Both of these might break into my top 4, especially after seeing the leaked pic of this years.
