They hate greatness too much, to the point that it leads to motivation. They hate Boston, just like there were a lot out there who hated Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant when they were reaching success.

One whole month of Jayson Tatum disrespect, tell me who your favorite player is without telling me…hey John can you make ranking list of the top 25 NBA players, I would like to see how far apart you have Tatum from Brown.
It's pretty simple: People have a vision in their head of what an NBA superstar looks like. It's either the otherworldly athleticism of Jordan, the undeniable freight train physicality of Lebron, the super-freak physical specimen of Kareem or Shaq (and maybe Wemby), or the stratospheric skills of a Steph Curry. JT, as insanely good as he is, is a B+ version of all of these things. So it seems like, and hopefully JT embraces this, he'll be like Tim Duncan: Never the overwhelmingly greatest, but the guy who cared about winning more than looking like a winner.

In my mind, Tatum is top 3 elite player in the NBA. I dont believe the perception of Tatum comes down to 4 people. But I agree part of the reason he is being disrespected is because he is so humble and selfless, that he's not flashy but instead is a solid executioner. He ranks behind the other guys because he doesnt use his voice as a leader and impose his will.
Tatum is a beast and when he levels up, HELL will be released upon the nba! JB leveled up and when "Lugi" found his mushroom he got ECF Finals + NBA Finals MVP…. Now its Mario's turn and these 2 paired together with Jrue and DWhite 🤯 Its a wrap!!! ☘️
The confusion comes from Boston fans and media still overrating Tatum while at the same time under rating Brown..
All the guys you guys have a problem being mentioned before Tatum DO NOT HAVE A RUNNING MATE PRODUCING LIKE JAYLEN BROWN.
Which one of those guys have someone who they can essentially count on nightly for 25-30? And have been way more efficient than them their entire careers? And average 28, 7 and 3 on 51% shooting in 35 games when they don't play?
Tatum is part of a package deal. You can't pit him vs other superstars solely. It's the Jays vs..
Lastly, go look at all those games in the Milwaukee and Philly second round series before Tatum had his hot elimination games. Did Tatum save the team, or finally show up in those series?
This Tatum delusion has my city looking soft and bereft of the eye test. The man was PICKED after the lebron dunk and has had excuses made for his lengthy moments of bad play throughout his career

JT gets disrespected because a large number of fans fit into the fringe and casual category. They get influenced by things the media discusses. If you do not drop thirty, but do other things at a high level to impact winning, it gets frowned upon. I do not think anybody on the Celtics cares about the outside noise after they won Banner 18.
“Nobody cares” is the perfect slogan. Why? Because we’re seeing real time why it was being said. No one is going to have a better NBA story than Jordan according to media and that was mushed in LeBron face. The irony is because of that No ONE “will” have a better story than those two, NOBODY CARES.

The guy who is so disrespected is Giannis. Kevin Garnett said Tatum is even better than Giannis. When was Tatum better than Giannis? and he's been hating on Giannis for years.
Anyway, Tatum is not disrespected. Tatum did this to himself. In 2022, Tatum shot 37% from the field against the Worriors. In 2024, Tatum AGAIN played like trash in the playoffs. Ppl look at Tatum and I don't think dudes actually respect Tatum. The NBA tried to rally behind him but Tatum seems not to be that guy. He did this to himself, John.
What I do not find fair is that Jason Tatum and Jaylen Brown, over the years, both have been crucified by the Media because of their past performances in the playoffs, this is while most of their peers are in Cancun watching them play, sitting comfortably knowing that they will not suffer the same fate as Brown and Tatum.
