I love him even more now. Can’t wait for my Nets to snag him

Shohei Ohtani, Coco Gauff, Maxey, Jamal Murray, and Cam Brink are also NB Athletes.

  3. Goosedukee

Apparently he chose them because of their ties to his home state of Maine so that’s cool

  4. ZandrickEllison

Really like him but I worry people are going in with inflated expectations. Not sure his offense is ready yet.

  5. Truly the inheritor of Matt Bonner’s throne.

The New Balance Renaissance over the past few years still continues.

Iirc, people were assuming he’d sign with Jordan. When he got his HS POTY award he was wearing the Travis Scott Jordans. I’m sure NB threw him the bag here and honestly, NB just makes a better all around product than Nike/JB.

  7. LongTimesGoodTimes

Kind of interesting to do this in college given that traditionally the schools have brand partners and everyone wears their things.

  8. So tracking the projected (by some publications) top 3 picks

Cooper Flagg – Duke : New Balance

Ace Bailey – Rutgers : Reebok (not confirmed rumor)

Dylan Harper – Rutgers : Nike (not confirmed but it’s pretty obvious)

Getting potential stars early is a good gamble for the underdog

This man is Maine as fuck!

My mother and I both used to work at the big new balance factory. Only place I’ve ever worked that wouldn’t allow you to have a drink that wasn’t water in the break room, because fitness company.

Now get rid of the commercial song hey hey hey.

  12. Piping__Plover

Damn I thought LL Bean had him in the bag

People really sleep on New Balances, both from a culture and a performance/comfort standpoint. I have probably 75 pairs of sneakers – everything from Off-White Jordan 1s to beaters – and New Balances easily have the best blend of style and comfort.

No idea whether they will hold up from an NBA performance standpoint. But they absolutely aren’t a joke.

wonder what his Flaggship shoe will look like??

That name is never going to not sound like a generic NBA 2k protagonist name to me

Duke and New Balance? Checking off all the white guy boxes.

  17. redbirdjazzz

Hopefully they’ll come in wides. If any company might do it, it’d be New Balance.

  18. Pardonme23

Dad bod time. New balance and jeans with a tucked in shirt.

  19. SadatayAllDamnDay

Either a completely genius move or the Danny Ferry contract of shoe deals.

Good luck making a FIBA or Olympics team now

What does “Filed to ESPN” mean in this context? Like someone from Coop’s camp sent a fax to Bristol?

  22. Strong-Piccolo-5546

i wear new balance cause i need 6e width. these are the shoes of the middle aged men like me.

  23. deezcastforms

Based. New Balance shoes are fucking amazing

  24. -KFBR392

As an old guy I just don’t get this whole New Balance shift over the last 8 or 9 years.

They didn’t even change the look, somehow the ‘old man mall walking’ shoe became the look and I can’t wrap my head around that.

  25. makashiII_93

    First red flag I’ve seen.

    Nike, cmon. It’s right there.

  26. acie-earl-watson

Ace Bailey about to sign with Dada Supreme

  27. Independent_Net_9203

NB are the real cool shoes apparently and Jordans and shit are for boomers now

  28. Unstep-in-Time

I had 2 pairs of New Balance when I was a teenager and both split in the seam relatively quickly.

  29. creedbratton603

New England kid staying with a new England company love to see it. The fact he hasn’t gotten an LL Bean endorsement yet is surprising lol

  30. AyMoeKill

Coop signing with New Balance just means him getting drafted by the Wizards is a divine right lol 992s and 993s were a staple in dc streetwear when I was growing up in the dmv
