Thoughts on Nikola Topic coming back and playing during the end of the 24-25 season for OKC?

I was looking at 2024 mock NBA drafts and I found this one:
2024 NBA Mock Draft 5.0 by Jacob Boud on June 25.
https://jacobboud1.wixsite.com/mysite/post/2024-nba-mock-draft-5-0

While he has Topic going to the Utah Jazz at 10, it's his opinions and comments that should have Thunder fans interested.

'It's a shame that Topic got injured again, but that likely doesn't change his draft stock for the Jazz, who aren't close to entering win-now mode and can afford to take a year and nurse a potential PG of the future back to health. Keyonte George showed out last year for Utah, but his playstyle more so resembles that of a score-first combo guard rather than a true floor-general PG. Topic plays more like the latter, and very well might be the best playmaker in the class. He is an incredible passer who can read the defense like a book and set up open shots for his teammates while still reserving to just keep the ball and finish at the rim with a soft touch. At 6'7", Topic has solid positional size, and although he has a slightly negative wingspan, 6'5.5" is still good enough for a PG. He could surprise everyone by returning somewhere in the second half of his rookie season, giving Utah a chance to start developing his chemistry with the team.'

The Thunder announced that on Wednesday July 24th that OKC Thunder Rookie Nikola Topic Undergoes Successful ACL Surgery.

ACL recovery time is typically anywhere from 6 to 12 months, with some suggesting that younger athletes want 9 months.
The 6 month timetable is January 24th.
The 9 month timetable is April 24th.

Any thoughts on Nikola Topics post surgery availability next season?

They wouldn’t reintroduce him to the lineup and completely mess up our rotations and chemistry that late into the season. I’m guessing he’ll get a lot of time with the Blue and on our bench soaking in the plays.

Probably too disruptive and why take away his ROY next season lol

  3. i believe they consider his *Red Shirt* status to be a feature, not a strike against or a hardship to overcome.

NBA players don’t typically come back in 6-9 months. It’s usually closer to a full year and year+ before they consider themselves 100%. I’d be shocked if we saw him this year.

Doubt it Chet didn’t come back, when he “ appeared healthy “ maybe if it’s late in the season and seeding is locked up and it’s a blowout but presti and mark probably say no anyways

Nah, he needs to spend all year watching film, getting stronger, and living with Chip Engelland
