I expect another great, maybe the best since, season from Nikola Jokic.
In NYC, LAL, SAS, DAL, GSW, etc and so on.
As soon as he gets out of Denver – he'll have another great season.
I feel great about Jokic's next season – If he stays in Nuggets and he sits on the bench "injured" or "depressed" – or he goes to a DECENT, REAL franchise and have a glorious season – I'll feel good about it. It'll all be good for my boy Nikola.
But, what'll happen with "the rest"!? If Nikola leaves Denver (and we're SO HOPING he does) – what'll happen with outlets like "DNVR sports", "DNVR", etc and the characters like Mares, wind, eric, swipa, matt, etc etc and all the other unemployed idiots with a mic, camera and the youtube account?
What'll happen to them!?
Oh well. Back to "do you want fries with that" schtick for them.
Jokic has peaked statistically, but not in the sense that he'll never be able to play at the same level again. I just don't see him having as good of a statistical season in all the categories that he did with his 2nd MVP. But he'll still play up to that level
I wouldn't give Mal a contract extension; make him earn it. He might walk? Pretty sure they can find a good substitute if that happened. Trey Alexander could potentially replace him next year or in a year or two they make a play for Luka. There are options and it wouldn't be the end of the world if he walked. Injury history + occasional bad attitude + disappearing in critical moments, especially in the playoffs doesn't equal a super max contract. If an extension does happen, I hope it includes safeguards for the team and incentive based.

I really fail to see how did Nuggets got worse this year. KCP is on downward trajectory – CB is on upward and he is built better. They replaced Reggie with the former MVP, they finally got a backup 5 (and one that can play like Jok to a degree) and got back 🧃 and Cha-cha-chanchar
