They got my boy on LESS than the minimum 😭😭

  3. And people were pissed before when they thought he was just signing for a minimum. Can’t even get a guaranteed contract.

  4. DidAnyoneElseJustCum

Life is tough for a baller named Lonald

everyone acting like we are the dynasty era Patriots over getting a guy who can get cut in camp is hilarious not gonna lie

  6. Tmod02191

Brad Stevens is basically getting players to pay him at this point

Reflects the market we’re in right now. Not many roster spots, teams are butting up against the tax/aprons, and we’ve been seeing this in recent years where teams would rather fill the end of their rosters with nonguaranteed old guys for locker room stability or rookie deals than a guaranteed minimums for vets like Lonnie and others like DSJ (not signed), Diallo (barely played last year), etc.

Guys like Lonnie are being hurt by how teams are operating around the league in recent years. Teams would rather go with a rookie deal and save $1-2M than someone like Lonnie. Very few teams have cap space in the next year or two either, so not likely to change much. Teams are paying their top 3-4 guys huge money…everyone else is losing out.

  8. Like I know he doesn’t deserve more than the minimum cause of the new CBA and roster situation of most teams.

But goddamn the league don’t even think he deserved a roster spot.

Lonnie had a great year last season and what I’m gonna guess is that he ends up being converted, but on a non-guaranteed deal. They want the flexibility for that 15th spot, but Lonnie’s availability and the fact you can have someone like him at the end of your bench? You gotta take that chance. Celtics are already over the aprons. Why the hell not?

It’s teams like the Lakers (Reddish, Hayes, etc.), teams like the Clippers (Tucker, Hyland, etc.), that lose out. Suns are already over the aprons…why wouldn’t they dump Little and Liddell? They’re not scared of the tax line, like the Pelicans or Cavaliers. Teams are less willing to salary dump players because they wanna keep picks, so we’re seeing more waiving and stretching. Some teams are acting in fear, and others are being decisive.

So he’s getting cut after camp.

He’s a camp body. Got it.

  11. Dam Lonnie, what did you do to get this low? Not even 2 years ago, you were a part of a Lakers team that went to the WCF, and you had your moments. Now, you can’t even get a vet minimum and have to sign an E10 deal with the Celtics, just to stay in the league. Like serious who did you fuck or wronged to end up at this point lol.

Hope everything works out for Lonnie, I love that kid

I don’t get why he’s barely in the NBA. He’s a capable bench scorer if the team has an injury or two.

His type of player is completely dying out but he’s got enough talent to be on a team

How did the Heat not sign him, a Miami Hurricane

  15. New_Essay_4869

Theres no way Lonnie aint good enough man. This dude could get buckets in spurts when Cam Thomas didnt have it going

Winning organizations make this kind of move on the margins. If Lonnie walker can contribute spot minutes when a rotation guy is out, very very good value here.

  17. i’m really surprised no one signed Lonnie to a minimum outright. i know he wasn’t great last year after he got hurt but like… he seems worth a flyer on the minimum
