[Azarly] Paul George’s dad on PG leaving the Clippers: “I felt like they stabbed us in the back because I thought Paul did a whole lot for the team. I think he gave them 110% and what he was asking, it wasn’t a whole lot.”

Feel like PGs pod is gonna get him in trouble in Philly lol

  2. yerr2477

    “did a whole lot”

the side of the backboard says otherwise. choked or was injured in 80%* of their years.

  3. Final-Luck-4222

What was he getting ? 150 over 3 years with clippers
    ?

It’s perfectly fine for PG lol. But at that age, he is chasing a bag and a ring simultaneously, so idk why he needs to go and throw clippers under a bridge lol.

  4. shanmustafa

i really thought after 2021 he would turn his playoff stuff around, becoming more consistent, where even your 4/17 shooting games end up with you putting at least 20 on the board for your team instead of 11

but he just went back to being a rollercoaster, embarrassing 7 point game, then 33, and then the next two combined games he scores 33

  5. Justin_FieldsisElite

Ehh I think Paul and the clippers were both being reasonable. Paul’s skillset is always gonna be in demand and the clippers definitely did not get what they were expecting with Paul George.

The clippers basically just told Paul through negotiations they didn’t want him back. Nothing wrong with that. Nothing wrong with Paul leaving.

PG is a spot up shooter in today’s NBA and that’s it. His efficiency is gonna take a pretty big hit when he doesn’t have the Harden looks being fed to him, but especially when more of his touches turn into ISO’s rather than C&S 3s. He was already taking more ISO’s than spot ups *when Kawhi and Harden were beside him averaging 20 points per 100 more per ISO..* that balance is gonna shift even more when he’s taking looks away from Maxey lmao

He plays like a guy that’s too good to hustle, his turnovers are atrocious, and he’ll basically never take on the toughest defensive assignments. When he does, he almost always gets himself into foul trouble.

And LMAO @ people thinking he’s gonna put his ego aside and just settle nicely into a 3rd option role focusing on 3&D

  7. To be fair Kawhi makes anyone who sits next to him and plays an average amount of games look like a workhorse.

  8. ThingsAreAfoot

PG Pops at the end revealing they wanted to go to the Lakers first, to the surprise of… somebody, I’m sure.

  9. kamekaze1024

This feels like a dig at Kawhi missing several games and and PG “attempting” to carry his team through said games. Now if PG actually flourished during those games, I can see their argument. But I think Clippers fans know more about that than me

  10. loving-father-69

Didn’t they pay him nearly 200m? I feel like that’s an ok trade off for his services lol

  11. HolyRomanPrince

    >He gave them 110%

He quiet quit in the bubble and hit the side of the backboard. FOH

  12. readitmoderator

They know hes getting old only team dumb enough to pay PG is the desperate 76ers

  13. Niceguydan8

I would expect basically any dad to take this position.

Lol, dude this guy is so full of himself. PG was brought in to be Robin to Kawhi’s batman, and then to step up to the number 1 role when Kawhi is out. He was given max money and a max extension.

2020, dude is an absolute no-show against DEN; has that ridiculous shot. Didn’t have that great of a DAL series either.

2021, he chokes under pressure; anyone remember game 2 (?); Clippers would’ve gone back to LA 1-1, instead down 0-2. This weak clown choked BOTH of the free throws. Clippers were up 103-102. Suns win on last second bucket. ALSO, it wasn’t PG that saved us the Utah series. Mann was the one who dropped 30 points for the comeback victory.

2022, dude gets some respiratory illness and ends up not playing the 2nd/elimination game.

2024, Harden carried the team when Kawhi took a break.

PG is overrated; his offensive game is severely limited by his weak handle and proneness to TO. He cannot create separation anymore, and Philly fans will bash their brains watching this guy throw weak passes and losing his handle

  15. Zababbaduba

He averaged 53 games per year with LAC but got paid $197 million.
    He gave them about 67%.
They were smart to move on.

  16. DadOfPete

“Wasn’t a whole lot” is kinda subjective. To me, it seems obscene.

  17. New_Essay_4869

I was hoping PG Russ and Harden would stay together so they could win a ring together

  18. Just man up and say what you guys want to say about Kawhi. PG thinks he’s worth as much or more than Kawhi.

  19. Gave us 110%, huh? He cried about being a playmaker/ballhandler (“bringing up the ball against Jrue Holliday is hard!!”) so we had to get John Wall (and lose out on Hartenstein cuz of it), and Westbrook and eventually Harden for him. And then when we finally got a playmaker in Harden, started yapping about how he now needed to do the dirty work with Batum/RoCo gone (he did not do the dirty work anyway lol).

Enjoy the incoming yapping and excuse-making, Philly. Best of luck to yall as you roster this clown.

edit – OHHH i had forgotten – it didnt start there, the reason why he was even more of a playmaker at that point was because one of the initial yaps was “Doc Rivers used me like JJ Redick (spot up shooter)” LMAO. This dude, bruh.

  20. mayorolivia

PG admitted he left for more money. What is he crying about? The free agency process worked out as it should.

  21. ceviche-hot-pockets

This guy is just biologically incapable of shutting the fuck up and enjoying his bag.

  22. Paul George is going to have an interesting legacy. Very Good player but his body of work playing on underachieving teams is going to hurt him

  23. FlatulenceConnosieur

I asked my boss for a two dollar an hour raise and she told me to get bent.

  24. Taking up for his son I get it but what exactly did PG accomplish on the clippers lol

  25. d_lo_ading

in the end, PG atp can only play a KD scoring role where all he has and needs to do is to take and (maybe) hit tough jumpers all night. but he is no KD and yet wants KD money. can’t and wouldn’t fit at all. Philly might be the spot for him given that Maxey can playmaker and Embiid can take on the scoring, but if he continues to no show even as the 3rd option then he will be clowned on forever.

  26. Dontsaveme

I kinda forgot he even signed with Philly

  27. Gratitude15

He asked for the absolute maximum you can pay gi en his circumstances

    ‘wasn’t a whole lot’

    Gtfo

  28. LV_Blue-Zebras_Homer

Out of 410 possible games with LAC, Paul George played in 263.

Yes, over 5 years he played in only 64% of the games, 52 per year.

He didn’t do shit, he only played 74 this year because it was a contract year. Clippers were smart, he is 33.

  29. JaKobeWalter

Honestly I agree all they had to do was offer him the Kawhi contract. In the end he got much more than that.

  30. belizeanheat

His per 36 numbers last year were Jonathan Kuminga level and there’s no reason to expect they’ll be any better this year

  31. I’m gonna have my popcorn ready for those playoff pods, it’s gonna be majestic hearing Paul and watching the fallout from fans

  32. hoops_n_politics

Man, I used to like PG-13. Always pulled for him and Kawhi to take the Clippers over the top. Now that he’s going scorched earth, things have changed.

Now? I think I’d enjoy it if the 76ers get buried under an avalanche of injuries. Sorry Embiid, sorry Maxey – it is what it is

  33. Bigking00

I wish my company would stab me in the back like that. They can even use a ŕeal knife for that much money.

  34. onlyahobochangba

Dad must not have watched the 2024 playoffs

  35. PG played this way for a team he WANTED tonolay for. Now imagine him playing for a team 3rd on his list. Sixer fans gonna kill him lol.

  36. colombo1326

Yea but the team was going no where so why keep paying this guy and keep getting the same results

  37. avidmatt

Wasn’t a whole lot? Literally wanted the max smh better off without him

  38. omega_beams

Bro I never want to hear from an athlete’s parent about their kid. Ever.

  39. Intelligent_Top_328

    Wasn’t a whole lot? What’s he smoking?

  40. Stabbed us in the back ? Didn’t know his dad played in the nba
