A guy doesn’t go from carrying a team like he did without Steph that season (and single-handedly being the reason the team was in a position to fight for a spot in the playoffs by the time Steph came back from injury in March) AND leading the entire league in 3s to being “washed” and not having it anymore the very next season. If anything, it’s proof of how much last season was a result of mentals (on account of the FO and Lacob intentionally ostracizing him all season as some supposed big brained negotiation tactic) and nonsensical roster construction. To be sure, the 22-23 roster construction wasn’t much better, but he didn’t have to endure the mind games that season that he did last season.

Unrelated but depending on what happens with Klay and how golden state are without Klay. Could potentially leave a slight mark on stephs image, this could also bolster Klay reputation and make people look more highly on him. I think Steph is great but I think Klay his shooting and gravity has helped Steph a lot and will be interesting to see how he looks without him.
