Great episode Lief. Thanks for the excellent off season content and the work you do when Locke is out.
Another factor to consider when comparing Lauri's stats to those other players, is that Lauri was averaging more like 26 pts a game with efficiency only matched by Steph Curry– during the 45 games or so that he played with Mike Conley.
After Conley was traded they were trying to lose games, so it brought his numbers for the year down. Last year Lauri only got one or two passes a game that actually set him up with an advantage. Many passes were thrown to him as the shot clock was running out- and he was guarded.
If he gets a point guard who is as effective as Conley at setting players up at an advantage– on a team that is actively trying to win games– I think he could be top 3 in the league at scoring 25 pts+ with efficiency.

It seems like all the local and even national channels just skip over Lauri when talking about Jazz since he isn't flashy personality. He got a season of hype but last season it was rare to see anyone, not even official Jazz accounts to point out Lauri over his other teammates. I don't think there are many teams in NBA whose best player is as ignored when talking about the team.
So thank you Leif (and also David had an episode on Lauri some time ago) from this treat!
