DC Franchise Grid (Day 14)

Rod Strickland wins for Best Handles. Today we're voter for Best Shooter. I imagine there could be a much wider range of opinions on this than in some other categories, so here are some names to consider IMO:

Tracy Murray

Tim Legler

Rex Chapman

Bradley Beal

Otto Porter

Martell Webster

Chris Whitney

Hubert Davis

Reminder: We're using a two-season minimum, so someone like Jared Dudley, Mike Miller or Mark Price wouldn't be eligible.

I didn’t include Davis Bertans on my suggested names list out of principle for how dogshit he was in 2022, but if you feel so inclined, go ahead.

Tim Legler was a beast won 3 point shooting contest I believe and I always liked he was a local guy.

  3. ragtime_sam

Beal was a 37% career shooter for us on high volume. Even tho he fell off at the end (when he tried to transform to a lead ball handler) I think it’s still gotta be him

  4. Cheeba_Addict

3 pt shooter? Cuz I never saw Caron butler miss a mid range jumper in my whole life

  5. violagoyf

It’s gotta be Brad, right? Second all-time franchise scorer by only a hair and shooting has really been his calling card for his whole career.

Felt like Trevor Ariza couldn’t miss open 3’s in 2013-14. Shout out to him

  7. DrummerRealistic2863

Ottomatic, better pure shooter than Beal when he was healthy

Not sure who the all time 3P% leader is, I would guess Legler, but I can’t stand the dude. Gilbert gets my vote for having the most monumental 3s and just the general excitement he brought with his shooting.

Special shout out to Ledell Eackles, who worked out at my middle school’s rec center and was real nice to all of us kids.

  9. Solid-Confidence-966

Bradley Beal if we’re factoring in midrange shooting

    Tim Legler

Gilbert arenas honorable mention bc so clutch with his long range

It’s Bertans. 8 3pt attempted per game and made 42.4%

    Nobody else is close.

    Tim Legler or Phil Chenier.

Y’all…Phil shot almost 45% fg and 80% ft. He opened up the floor for Wes.

Legs has the record for the third best three pointing season in nba history and shot 52% from deep.

It’s really between Brad and Gil.

Before late Brad era, he was known as a great shooter, and had the numbers to back it. Those numbers took a hit when the team dynamics changed, but Brad was a cash money shooter off the ball

Gil probably has the edge, because he was an on ball creator and could shoot. Brad struggled in that area when he was tasked with trying to do it.

Gil also did it in an era where they weren’t embracing it, so it’s more impressive for him. Gil was a goofball, but his work ethic was legit, and I could only imagine what he would’ve looked like if he was drafted in this current era.

Brad Brad does have the numbers, and multiple years, but I’m leaning towards Gil because of usage, volume, and difficulty.

Gonna throw in a vote for David Bertans because the shit he was hitting before he suddenly fell off was the most insane shot making I’ve ever seen.
