  1. If CJ comes off of the bench on this team, you can forget about trying to trade him b/c what team will want to acquire a $30 million plus a year 30 plus year old undersized second string shooting guard. That will diminish his value into the toilet. The Pels will likely be stuck with him until his contract expires. The Pels have to learn to do a better job of increasing the value of their players. Look how Josh Hart worked out for them. Portland saw a good young bench player on the Pels who brought more value to their team on the court than his contract cost them, and their fans loved him just like New Orleans fans did. Now, he is probably going to be a starter on a good New York Knicks team. Why would any team take on CJ's contract if the Pels don't see him worth starting on a small market team when there are bigger, cheaper, and younger players out there who can come off the bench? They have to make CJ's contract look attractive like their he's playing a crucial role on the success of this team at the SG position so it would make more sense for a team that needs a starting SG would be willing to trade a starting C for him that NO needs!
