The Raptors Just Made A HUGE Mistake..

In a shocking turn of events, Christian Koloko is returning to the NBA but it is not with the Toronto Raptors. The 7-foot center is set to sign a contract with the Los Angeles Lakers where he can compete for the backup spot behind Anthony Davis.

IT has not even been a year since Masai Ujiri WAIVED the young Cameroonian and it has Raptors fans extremely upset with how this could happen. Join Jacob Gramegna in this video on Amateur Hour Sports as he breaks it all down.

  1. So are you just going to gloss over the fact he still hasn't been cleared to even play professional basketball yet?? Sure he's planning on "signing" with the Lakers if he can clear the final test but that is a MASSIVE 'if", there's still about an above 85% chance that Koloko doesn't clear the final stage of test and never plays professional basketball again. So why would the Raptors front office waive a player that can legally play for a small of a chance that Koloko does get cleared, especially when we already have Fernando and Carlson on the roster who are the same type of player that are both currently healthy and better then Koloko is.

  2. i don't agree it was necessarily a mistake at all, let alone a HUGE mistake. i agree that nwora was an inexplicable failure and embarrassingly so tbh. i like koloko's talent, youth, and size for sure, but at this point in time he's still a project who has yet to prove himself in the NBA, and i think he wanted to go to LA in the first place, so and we don't know if we had a genuine chance to get him for the right amount of money. also, masai is ultimately responsible, but i'm sure there was consultation and discussion and some kind of consensus and logic involved in the decision. we will see whether or not it was a genuine mistake, or possibly a HUGE mistake, in a year or two, and not before then imo. i'm don't agree with all of their moves, and i would like to see koloko in a raptors' shirt, but in general like what they have done since last season so far.

  3. From risk management perspective, I do not see a huge mistake on the movement of Koloko, all I see are strategic decisions with a backup plan. koloko situations were truly gambling, now we are criticizing the decision on the bad luck that Raptors somehow always get. Details on first move, that time Pascal trade was the top priority, and we didn’t completely give Koloko up as we hold the hope to resign him and the summer league which we still saw that connection. When we signed BF which was another plan B if Koloko cannot be signed back. We technically leave a spot for Koloko if he wants to be back. However the entire situation goes to different way that I believe the agent made plays within it. I believe to change Koloko’s mind might cost more than waive BF or the front office reassess that Ulrich Chomche plus BF would be better and more flexible choice. Overall there are no significant loss for the team about him. Simple conclusion, risk over the benefit. Big picture, OG’s move, SB max contract and this years draw were significant success, front office definitely could do better on many moves but keep the key core with assets of 1st round and no toxic long contract are the key for next up.

  4. Cmon guys- play with Lebron, live in California, make playoffs…
Or shovelSnow and return to a team That ditched you to play for the lottery…Also he really wasn’t that good. It’s all just light business.

  5. You have to be kidding, he signed a 2 way contract with Lakers because the league has not cleared him. He would have made 5 times that if he would have been cleared. Raptors paid him his full salary last year to not play him, and you are saying they should have signed him as a 2 way. The have alot of players to develop. I am fine with how it played out. All the best to him, hope he gets a chance to develop, if he can get on the floor

  6. What should the Raptors have done? They have already committed to a bunch of centers, and I think they have only one spot available. They need to save that spot for any player they can get for cheap after training camp

  7. Makes me wonder if Richard Peddie is pulling the strings on the Raptors? It's bad enough that Ed Rogers could have something to do with it. By the way. Where is Bobby Webster at? Why do I have a feeling that he is the one sabotaging the Raptors?!

  8. Koloko knows in Masai we dont trust. Koloko made the right decision, the raptors gm gave up on him so time to move on to new team.

  9. Is it possible it’s the lakers and raptors positing to make a trade for Bruce brown or Boucher?? Maybe they want to have both koloko and Bruno moving forward but couldn’t under the current circumstances

  10. Very in depth video . Good stuff 👌 Raptors are not looking good unless Barrett , Quickly , and Barnes average over 22 + ppg

  11. I think it’s funny how Bobby has been doing more said he would be more involved but whenever something bad happens everyone shows Masai. If y’all get what you want you will really see how bad it can get for raptors fans. Some of you don’t know Babcock and how he held us back decades. Never forget players have sociology and experiences in this league that really show a line. Having someone on the other side of that who represents you and your cultures is huge. Especially for a no man’s land like Toronto in a players head. But let’s keep blaming Masai as if we all know the ins and outs of everything. Lol.

  12. i would have signed koloko to a one year deal just to test the waters if anything. he deserved that much, especially after all he went through. yes, this was shocking to see and doesn't sit well with me. all that potential is worth the risk. absolute fail by the raptors.

  13. 😂you got jokes. As a laker fan, we want koloko as our center of the future. We will crucify Pelinka if he let's him go. We will also lose AD, our anchor and most important player, f**k lebron. AD finally got a center he could mold. Block and lob party all game. Thanks for developing him a bit raptors as I've always thought you guys are a classy organization. We will take it from here. Thanks Again.

  14. Damaged goods. Its not a mistake. Its calculated risk. The best sitiation for koloko is to be in the highest profile team. Why because they have the greatest clout and possibly the ability to influence the health panel. The health panel can not make any determination intil the first day of the regilar season as per article 22.11-f of the health policy. We will see how they decide. Clotting is a big issue that can recur likely will. To support this african player not signing him is the best thing for him.

  15. @AmateurHourSports you mention a few times why they would waive Koloko to make room for those other guys. They only took on the other guys to match salaries. So Chistian was waived for nothing, it was to make the trade work. Raptors got Bruce draft picks and salary filler.

  16. I wanted the raptors to draft a center because there was no guarantee Koloko was going cleared by the nba. I like Ulrich but he quite raw.
