  1. That really sucks. I grew up listening to Al McCoy on the radio and TV. Phoenix loves you Al.

Hard to put into words what this man meant to the Suns community and Arizona. I grew up listening to him on the radio.

    One last “SHAZAM”!
    RIP AL 🧡

The definitive voice of the Suns, RIP

Our Vin Scully. Hope you get the rousing reception at the pearly gates you deserve Al. Shazam

Grew up with Al calling the games. One of the best to do it. May he rest in peace.

He was every bit the legend to Suns fans that Chick Hearn is to Lakers fans or Johnny Most is to the Celtics fans. He called games here for over 50 years. He had so many great catchphrases too. *”Zing go the strings!”*

Can’t even describe how gutted I am over this right now.

I only became a Suns fan the year Ayton got drafted, sad I missed out on a lot of Al’s career because he was really great. Glad he got to witness some good years at the tail end of it

Rest in peace Al. Thanks for being the voice of the Suns.

Words cannot express how much this man means to the Arizona sporting world. The Suns are our one team that has been here long enough that it entrenched traditions and generations of fans. The Cardinals basically exist as a way for mid-west transplants to watch their teams when we play them. We have very few sports things that are OURS. Al McCoy was the voice of that for over fifty fucking years. He was a wonderful man who will be deeply missed but he will be looked at as an icon for not only the sport of basketball but the entire state of Arizona, forever.

This is just awful, the Suns has lost a legend.

😞 Can we get a “Shazam!” in the chat for our boy?

He will be missed. A real professional.

AL to the Suns community is like Bill Land to the Spurs community. 91 is a damn good run. RIP Legend.

Statue for Al is longer overdue. Get on it Mat Ishbia.

Wow, feels a bit like my childhood just ended. RIP to the legend

He was the “wham bam slam” of commentators. I grew up to him dating back to the early 90’s. This legit hits hard.

RIP to the GOAT, saddest thing in suns history is that he called our games for 51 years and never got to call us winning a title. Man was nearly 90 doing great play by play for us still, one of the best play by play guy in the sports history and a true legend

RIP. But i have to ask what constitutes to peacefully? I’d assume it was always peacefully as long as it wasn’t an accident.
