Jayson Tatum: “I talk to Joe [Mazzulla] a lot. Joe was probably the happiest person in the world that I didn’t win Finals MVP and didn’t play in two games in the Olympics. That was odd.”

  1. Honestly, that sounds like Joe and it’s what we’ve been speculating all offseason haha

    Psycho Joe baby LFG

Also finish the rest of the quote. Tatum goes on to say “but if you know Joe, it makes sense”

the media was not willing to give last year’s team its flowers and because of that we’re gonna get a dominant title defense with almost the exact same team

I’m so excited we brought basically the entire group back with a chance to do it again. This time with a new set of motivations, this should be fun!!!

  5. Even after all the Ime bullshit, he only set us back a year. Amazing work my Joe Brad and staff.

Has anybody ever gone from “I don’t know about this guy” to beloved faster than Joe?

I sure am glad psycho joe is on our side

  10. HustlinInTheHall

First defending champs where “Nobody believes in us” is actually true and Joe will not let them forget it

Love this. Love that the whole team is motivated. If I had to knit pick I don’t love that he’s even brining up the finals mvp but that’s the competitor in him and I’m glad he’s using It as motivation.

the hungrier the dog, the harder the bite (or whatever the phrase says)

Now, Tatum’s motivated because of the Olympic benching slight, and Brown’s motivated because he was slighted first by not being named all-NBA, then being snubbed from the Olympics altogether. White and Holiday are motivated by how WELL they played in the Olympics, and the rest of the teams in the East have all reloaded. Mazulla’s got the whole team all chomping at the bit before training camp even starts. Bring it on.
