hopefully he can get his shot back. he shot 37% from 3 in the regular season last year but in the playoffs it just completely dropped down

  2. Layzman

He needs to get his shot back AND go up strong. Too many soft layup attempts are making his confidence low as those lauups either don’t go in or get swatted.

Good cuz his jump shot has been ass since May. Glad to see he noticed that too

  4. Holding out hope to get him back to his 2019-2021 mechanics

He really needs to get that wrist surgery but I’m hoping this will have positive impacts overall

**This** is the news story I’ve been waiting to hear. Between the Championship, the Olympics, the Asian tour and the new baby, I was legitimately worried that Tatum just wouldn’t have the *time* to address this rather *major* lingering issue. Obviously we have no idea if he’s successfully been able to tweak the shooting form, but the fact that he’s addressing it is a great sign. If he’s able to regain his once awesome shooting form, the sky is the limit for him.

It was pretty obvious to me that something was wrong. I was just worried it was his wrist so this to me is more promising. Hopefully they can iron it out!

i felt like him gaining all that muscle is what hurt his shot. hopefully he can get it back without losing his gains at the rim.

Speaking into existence the Celtics having a healthy postseason run with KP AND JT shooting at a normal clip

Wait then who’s taking Decue to school? /s

  11. I feel like Tatum will always fluctuate a little with his jumper. He’s super long and has limbs going everywhere so there is more room for slight hitches to form. This plus him being a rhythm shooter, he can get in funks that look bad.

Early in his career he would slump and then he would meet with Hanlen for a few days and the shot was back. The past couple seasons have seemed way more uneven, I am hoping they can come up with a couple little tricks for Tatum to use when he has a tough stretch.

Regardless, I’m not super worried about the shot, we just remember very clearly the playoffs and Olympics, but ultimately his shot was fine most of the season. What really excites me is that we washed the league all playoffs with a broken jumper Tatum and almost no KP. Its cool other teams improved but I don’t think anything improvement is bigger than healthy KP and fixed jumper Tatum.

This isn’t the first time this has happened, and likely won’t be the last. And it isn’t only him, either. Every NBA player deals with shit like this. People don’t realize how dialed in shooting motions are, and with how frequently these guys take shots it’s easy to tweak the motion and develop bad habits, even though they are super noticeable to untrained eyes of people watching on TV. He will be fine

Celtics are going to be a force this year

Any one able to spot the yips in reference?

I CAN NOT WAIT. NO FUNTIME INJURIES!

This might be the best news of the offseason so far. Tatum acknowledging that his jumper has a hitch or something that was clearly wrong with it is good – and he has improved on his flaws every year in the league. I saw some stat that said since March through the playoffs/olympics, Tatum shot sub 30% from 3 on like 200+ attempts. If he can get his mid range and 3 back, MVP season might be loading.

Maybe he’s trying to stop dry humping the ball before his shots

Apparently no one in the lrague has noticed that every time JT/JB are heavily criticized they have always come back with the problem fixed. Please keep the criticisms coming. I have no doubt he’ll fix his shot. Can’t wait

  19. Willis050

I give him a lot of credit for post championship working his ass off to correct his mechanics

  20. Icebreaker335

Jumper won’t be back to 2021 levels unless Hanlen ditches telling him to dribble like Kyrie lol JT was the best one dribble scorer in basketball last year whenever he takes too many dribbles he fucks his shot up

  21. TheOnionWatch

Hopefully this also means his wrist is fine, and it’s just poor mechanics.

  22. iAmTheRealLange

If he gets his shot back with his newly added playmaking it’s a fucking wrap lol

  23. I’m more worried about his rim finishing. He had so many “barely missed” layups that he needs to fix.

  24. totalmayo

Ramona knows the parade doesn’t actually go into the Charles, right?

  25. Haptiix

This is good to hear because his jumper had seemed broken since like April of this year

  26. Barttttttt11

Jayson Tatum pull up 3 back on the table please god

  27. tendadsnokids

This is like when Tiger rebuilt his swing
