I think this is the correct starting lineup, especially since Vando has injury concerns and may not be available or 100% to start the season.
Rui or Vando was the only major question about the starting lineup and with Vando’s current injury concerns, it is an obvious decision to start Rui instead of him.
I like the fact that JJ is using data that has a decenr sample size of 33 games in this instance, to form his decisions instead of subjective opinions and/or arbitrary statistics.

I don’t like this lineup. I would go with Vanderbilt at PF when he’s healthy. You need someone besides AD who can guard and bring some lineup balance. The only reason this 5 did pretty well last year is because D’lo, Hachimura and Lebron all shot over 40% from 3 point range. That is pretty unlikely to happen again. The two most successful Laker teams of the Lebron era 2020 and 2023 were the ones that leaned more into a defense first mindset.
