(Dalzell) Lonnie Walker IV said that he knows he’ll have to earn the guaranteed deal and is prepared to work his tail off. “Brad also mentioned that there’s the possibility I might spend some time with Maine in the G-league, and honestly I’m perfectly fine with that.”

I’m just confused how a dude this talented isn’t making it in the league. You can’t convince me that he’s not better than half the Pistons/Hornets roster.

Brad just hits home runs. This Celtic team is full of high character unselfish guys down to the last roster spot. That’s awesome

So glad we got this guy, very underrated, loved him on the spurs , always remember his draft night pic 😅

I wonder how good he’d be in Maine. Not really knowledgeable about the caliber of player he is vs the level of competition there

Dude him accepting a potential g league deal to join the team means he probably wants to stay long term,

He won’t increase his value playing no to little minutes this year and it’s a 1 year deal. Maybe his camp thinks with jrue holliday aging out there will be a spot for him later on. No clue why he’s doing it

Lonnie walker is absolutely insane minimum deal pickup let alone 2 way player

Sounds like he knows we don’t want to sign a 15th man to our roster right now because of the tax, but that he’d be pretty much guaranteed to get that spot when we do eventually sign somebody later on. Interesting that he is still interested in being here, but maybe he thinks it’ll boost his career potential. If and when he is finally signed, he would move to at least the top 10 in the rotation. It’s not like he’d actually be the 15th man

He would eat the g league alive tbh

Shit … If it was up to me Lonnie have a guaranteed spot. I’m a Walker fan I think he’s a pretty good player and this is a great pickup for the Celtics. Like if Tatum or brown is injured I feel like Walker can fill that spot until they come back from injury.

Interesting spot for Lonnie. If he spends time in Maine is it because he wants to reinvent himself as a role player so he can have a long career? Or will he just have a green light. Teams don’t have much need for that version of him given he’s struggled to get a roster spot, but if he can round his skills and keep offensive production he will make more money overall and hopefully stick.
