This is such a random trade

This is interesting, they lose towns but get some shooting in return. Honestly not stoked about DiVincenzo, that dude was killing it in the playoffs last year. Towns leaving is cool I guess, although he was never what worried me the most playing them

Looks like the Northwest is really ours to lose now

  4. Donte should be a phenomenal fit next to Ant. It also solves some of the long-term worries they had at the guard position. The problem is Randle is one of the worst playoff performers in the NBA, he’s already 30, and entering UFA in 2026. He also does not space the floor well, which is problematic if you’re playing next to Gobert.

When KAT was out last year for a chunk of time and the t wolves kept winning, I remember hearing a talking head saying a trade was possible. Didn’t expect it to actually happen, but it was a huge contract.

Yeah Chet is about eat big time against the wolves….

Has no impact on us. I thought of the Wolves as a tier below us and this trade doesnt move the needle in either direction if this is a dead-end trade

Seems like this makes them more vulnerable to the Nuggets (don’t have the stats but believe Kat defended Jokic surprisingly well). Really unsure how this will change our potential matchup with them.

Didn’t KAT fall apart in the Playoffs? Like to the point where people were booing him?

Wolves desperately lacked shot creation, and Kat’s defense was not good at all against Dallas. Kat lacks basically everything you need from a modern 4 in today’s game aside from shooting. Spacing will be bad, but you don’t HAVE to start Randle and you can bench Randle, start naz, etc etc if spacing concerns become an issue. You could even start a 3 guard lineup in Conley Donte ant and keep Randle/Gobert together. Physically, every lineup will be imposing. I think it’s a good move from them.

I may be in the minority but I don’t think this trade makes the Wolves worse. Donte is an amazing piece for them to get and Randle is better than what people think he is. Neither are on KATs level but getting an allstar level player AND a very good role player for KAT is nothing to scoff at tbh.

Wolves gone go hard in the paint tho but Thunder ⬆️

  13. I give the Knicks a B and the Wolves a C-.

This puts the Knicks in better position to deal with the Celtics. KAT spaces the floor at the 5 and can be a real second option on offense. Valid questions about his defense and his CTE in the playoffs. It will be interesting to see how good the bench is after losing DDV.

I guess the Wolves are moving preemptively about the financial crunch. Randle and Gobert is hilarious offensively (We’re going back in time 10-15 years off the spacing alone) but could be okay defensively. DDV is an A+ pick up for the bench. Idk the details of the pick but it’s a Detroit pick so it could be gold if it’s unprotected and worthless if it is. I think the Wolves and the Nuggets and the Grizzlies will be fighting for 4-5-6 as flawed but good teams. Also trading your guy for 9 years out the blue feels crazy.
